Up Up and Away into 2021!

The year of the double digits, 2020, was definitely an unforeseen, unexpected challenging year with some / many blessings in disguise. We probably went through a plethora of emotions from uncertainty to being grateful, anxiety to boredom, optimism to almost giving up, being creative & discovering culinary skills to drowning in fatigue, bathing in telly time to seeing the needle on the scales heading the wrong way, knowing the duration of a minute to investing time in yourself, etc. So much this Covid9 lockdown period made us go through; one helluva roller coaster ride! For some, it was like giving your board exams!

Some of us learnt to save and be moderate rather than spendthrift and extravagant; to live in less than more and to appreciate the smaller pleasures in life. So many got to spend precious family time, which other wise used to be on their wish list. Nature got a huge break and smiled on earth! While there many upsets too: businesses having to shut, job losses, untimely loss of life across the globe, etc, the one thing that kept us alive is hope, positivity, persistence and determination. Many challenges turned into opportunities and some realised their nascent entrepreneurial spirit. Humanity is what, I believe, 2020 taught us; it took us back to square one!

I too faced the brunt of this challenging time and like many others, invested in myself. I had all the time to introspect, reflect, learn, spend time on myself and grow! On this last day of the year with a few hours before we embrace 2021, I know I am stepping in to the new year with the updated version of myself! If this thought resonates because you too found yourself this year and upgraded, then I wish you luck as you fly away into this New Year. It's time to get back into the groove, to do things differently, to cultivate and harness new relationships and to be more human than ever! It's time to set new benchmarks and to drive our economy, our nation and our people!
