Up in the Air

Often Engineers get out on site. Sometimes they get to go up in the air, too. My colleague John Arnold did additional inspection work on the chimney that was surveyed by Drone in December; he was raised vertically upwards 50m in a MEWP. Luckily he has a good head for heights.
The chimney was once even taller; above is a historic photo showing how much the chimney extended above the 'feature' brickwork. You start to wonder how the chimney was built in the first place - it would be fantastic to see Victorian scaffolding.

8 年John did a good job here, not only do you have to have the skills and training but put them into practice that high up which for a lot of people may be a step too far!
