Unwrapping 2023: Here's how America shopped and dined
We have a little gift for you in this month's newsletter – and it's already wrapped. It's the first iteration of Fetch Wrapped ! This month, the Fetch team looked closer at the billions of receipts consumers shared with us this year to see how Fetch Nation shopped and dined.
The Fetch platform gleans real-time insights into shoppers' purchasing behavior by analyzing the billions of receipts snapped in our industry-leading consumer engagement platform. Fetch's 360-degree view of consumer purchasing is unmatched, spanning online and in-person transactions regardless of where a consumer shops.?
Fetch Wrapped delves deep into the zero-party data our shoppers share with us in exchange for points. That information translates to 2.6 billion receipts, which our industry-leading receipt reading technology observes and analyzes. In those receipts, we saw consumers buy 18 billion products. Overall, the platform saw $127 billion in spend – an unparalleled figure in the retail-agnostic platform space.
All those receipts led to some pretty amazing results for brand partners in 2023. A recent survey of nearly 1,000 Fetch campaigns revealed that Fetch delivers on average a 16% household lift and a 13% weighted dollar lift for brands that target new buyers. A separate study found that Fetch delivers an 18% average incremental sales lift for campaigns designed to target existing buyers.?

And what does that mean for the shopper? More points rewarded than ever before. Fetch Nation received 242 billion points for all the purchases they shared, and they cashed in on $7.4 million in reward redemptions. That’s a lot of gifts, personal treats and household items paid for with Fetch-earned gift cards.?
While Fetch consumers shop everywhere, they favored Walmart, Amazon, Target and Walgreens in 2024. When it came to restaurants, the most scanned QSR brands included a host of outposts with notable rewards programs, like McDonald's, Chick-fil-A and Dunkin' – proof that consumers are doubling their rewards and using those apps and Fetch in tandem.
Verified purchase data fuels these insights, which in turn creates the best platform for shifting purchase behavior. Fetch's next-gen capabilities for audience targeting, marketing measurement and attribution for brands coalesce to create a powerful omnichannel platform to drive business objectives.?
And, since this is our last newsletter of 2023, we want to acknowledge what a year it's been. Subscribers like you are helping us grow, so thank you for hopping aboard the rocket ship.
