Unwavering principles for growth and a sustainable world

Hello ??. This week at Iberdrola we continue to reap the rewards of our commitment to best corporate practices. For the 10th year in a row, we have been recognised as one of the most ethical companies in the world in the Etisphere #WorldMostEthicalCompanies ranking. This gives us continued enthusiasm to go from strength to strength and maintain the utmost professionalism in our work, as we use clear principles to guide us to a brighter future.

We are stepping on the accelerator with electric mobility

We are also promoting and investing in sustainable mobility through our strategic alliance with bp. In a recent development of this partnership, we have created a joint venture to promote electric vehicles, with both ourselves and bp investing €1 billion to install around 12,000 fast and ultra-fast charging points. Iberdrola’s Executive Chairman, Ignacio Galán, stated this agreement will crucially "accelerate the deployment of electric vehicles and generates industrial development in Spain".

Renewables around the world: Greece

In the latest installment of our ‘Renewables around the world’ series we go to Greece, where we have completed the installation of the Rokani wind farm ?.

We already have no less than 23 wind farms in operation in Greece through our subsidiary Rokas, spread across Central Greece, Crete, Thrace, Western Macedonia, Thessaly, the Peloponnese and the Dodecanese ??.

The Rokani wind farm adds to this fleet and will feature the largest and most powerful turbines in the country, providing green, home-grown energy for 20,000 families.

A new four-legged helper

You may remember the story of Jack from a few weeks ago - ??, our four-legged friend who helps us detect faults in the power grid at ScottishPower -today we bring you another dog story, however, this time we’re talking about four-legged ROBOTS!

You may be forgiven for thinking these images are from a futuristic movie; however they are actually from our colleagues at Avangrid across the pond who have put their own “bloodhound” to the test. ???. His name is Spot and he is a robot equipped with Artificial Intelligence that detects and analyses incidents in substations . Spot is part of a test being carried out by AVANGRID's process and technology team, and has recently been trialed at a facility in the state of New York with great results!
