In the world of hiring, resumes tell one part of the story. But sometimes, the deeper truths lie beneath the surface, and uncovering them can have extraordinary consequences. Here’s a story from our recent experience that underscores the critical role of background verification—and its impact on protecting businesses and communities.
The Start of a Routine Check:-
We recently initiated an employment verification check for a candidate applying for a role with one of our clients. As part of our standard process, we reached out to the candidate’s previous employer to confirm their credentials and understand their tenure.
What we uncovered was far from ordinary.
The previous employer not only refuted the candidate's claims but revealed that they had filed a criminal case against the individual for major defaults. To substantiate their claim, they shared a copy of the FIR (First Information Report) with us and also requested for our full support.
When Routine Turned Critical:-
The situation escalated quickly. The candidate, it turned out, was on the run, and his whereabouts were unknown. The employer had already informed the local police station about our inquiry, and soon after, the police reached out to us for further information.
In a rare turn of events, a police constable traveled all the way from another state to our office. Their mission: to gather more details about the candidate and trace their location.
