5 TRAINING TIPS FOR LEADERSHIP TEAMS

Training doesn't need to be difficult. Keep it simple with these 5 tips:

1. Plan Ahead: If you're waiting until they've started their first shift, you're already behind. Make sure to be prepared in advance by gathering your training resources, getting their uniform and name badge ready, having any employee ID number or email ready to go, and let your team know a new hire is about to onboard.

2. Skills Training: Give new hires concise, specific training on the duties they need to complete their tasks. If they don't feel confident in their operations, they won't be sticking around very long.?

3. Use Videos: With Millennials and Gen-Z now making up a large portion of the workforce, we need to get on their level. Use short-form, instructional videos to standardize operations and teach procedures the same way every time. (Pineapple makes it easy to create and upload your own video content!)

4. Knowledge Checks: Completing the training is one thing, but proving to be proficient is another. Use a short quiz or have employees perform a skill demonstration to ensure they've learned properly.

5. Re-training: Onboarding and training early-on is one thing, but people forget what they're taught in just a short period of time. Providing resources to be able to re-train or access information in a time of need is pivotal. Don't deny your staff with the info they need to do their jobs!
