When it comes to acing the SHRM exams and achieving HR success, the right preparation is key. In this exclusive interview, we sit down with Mr. Buenaventura Ribado, Staff Manager at Total Energies Equatorial Guinea and former student of our iCubeFarm Preparatory Course. He shares invaluable insights into his journey with our SHRM Preparatory course and how it empowered him to excel in the SHRM exams and beyond.

Mr. Buenaventura:? Good morning iCUBEFARM. Actually,?Iwork in the Human Resources department at Total Energies Marketing Equatorial Guinea as a staff manager.

Q: What motivated you to enroll for the iCUBEFARM SHRM preparatory course?

Mr. Buenaventura: My reason for enrolling in the preparation course arose when the company proposed that I work in the area of human resources. With not much experience in the?field, it is a challenge for me to know everything linked to HR; this was my motive for enrolling in the course.

Q: After taking the prep course do you think you are adequately equipped to sit in for theSHRM exams?

?Mr. Buenaventura: I?think?I’m?ready?to?take?the?test, in fact I’m already registered to do it in this window.

Q: How?do?you?think?being?SHRM?certified?will?benefit?your?career?

?Mr. Buenaventura: Being a SHRM certified professional will provide me with numerous opportunities to advance both professionally and personally.

?Q: What specific HR skills or knowledge do you think you have gained from the prep?course?

?Mr. Buenaventura: Taking the SHRM preparation course has improved the way we handle some real-life issues at work; the preparation course is more of a reminder of excellent HR practice.

Q: How do you plan to implement your learnings from the course in your current or future HR role?

Mr. Buenaventura: As I mentioned before, the preparation course is like a reminder of good practices in the HR branch, therefore what we have learned will allow us to improve in the way we make certain decisions or situations in the day to day.

?Q:What challenges did you face during the course, and how did youovercome them?

?Mr. Buenaventura: My?main?challenge?in?this?course?is?the?language,?because?myEnglish is?not?very fluent, but I am a person who does not put barriers to success so it is a major challenge for me.

Mr. Buenaventura: We?have?been?taking?the?course?on Saturdays, precisely because of the issue of managing time, because during working days it became difficult to work and go to class. The support of my company is defined in that they are the ones who have borne the cost of training, huge thanks to them, the employees feel good when a company works and supports our development and growth.
