Unveiling the Enigma: "What Does a Pearce Cobarr Look Like?"

In the vibrant landscape of San Francisco's tech industry, where innovation and personality often merge, a peculiar phenomenon occurred. It was a time when a hiring manager and her superior at a red-hot Bay Area tech startup were both gripped by an enigma. They pondered the existential question: "What does a Pearce Cobarr look like?"

My name, Pearce Cobarr, had somehow leapt from the resume and acquired a mystique all its own, a brand that resonated with palpable curiosity.

Intrigued by this magnetic aura, the hiring manager and her boss extended an invitation to unlock the secrets concealed behind the name. Little did they know that this encounter would set in motion a journey that would transcend expectations and push a lot of boundaries.

Fast forward to today, and it's a different world altogether. In an age where information is but a few clicks away, the mystery that once shrouded my existence has been demystified by the all-powerful Google. A simple search reveals my digital footprint, laid out for the world to see. It's all smiles, a handful of news clippings, and me extending a virtual hand to those in need, right?!

As I contemplated the digital me, I realized that this transparency is the norm today. Gone are the days when one's essence was distilled through word-of-mouth or enigmatic reputation. Today, a few keystrokes and voilà – there I am, yours to be scrutinized.

I had to see what you can see. So, with a mix of curiosity and trepidation, I embarked on a fresh Google expedition, determined to uncover the depths of my 2023 online persona. P-E-A-R-C-E, C-O-B-A-R-R, I typed meticulously.

First stop, the professional haven of LinkedIn. As I perused my profile, again seeking typos and misspellings, I couldn't help but chuckle. LinkedIn has been my virtual home for months, where I have dabbled in secret job-hunting spells known only to the LinkedIn Master Wizards and Sourcers. My employment coach, an oracle of job-seeking wisdom, divulges precious morsels of LinkedIn job searching incantations during our sessions. He tells me I am the rare bird going after the worm most moments of every day, not merely providing the illusion of the job hunt. (Really?! Who does that, and why?)

Next on the digital trail, Facebook. Yes, I am a parent. I documented the antics of my offspring with pride – the days when one child proudly sported Elmo as a fashion accessory peering out the front of each diaper and the other became a human Christmas tree ornament, battery operating lights dangling from each nostril. These were the moments that merited Facebook's coveted spotlight like the time they each put more than 42 pairs of underwear on their head. Oh, and Ceiling Frog – dear Ceiling Frog, do you still dwell there over the kitchen counter, a relic of my past social engagement obsessions?? Or, have you too fallen, wondering where next you may land?

But what about “The BROADcast?” Ah, that radio show appearance with my ex-wife and the Fabulous Filson Sisters. I remember it well. Our twins, ever the playground daredevils, had earned a reputation that reached the farthest corners of our tiny island. "One was 40 feet up a tree… a tree with no limbs…" – the tales were legendary. My influence extended beyond my kids; it reached colleagues, too. Encouraging them to say, "Oh, yes I can!" was my unspoken mission.?

And then, the moment of Google reckoning – videos. Those unshakable digital diaries that refuse to be deleted. There I was, strumming a guitar, performing a Christmas song I wrote yet never quite mastered. But does that deter me? Never.? I’ll strum strings and sing over ANY note!

Oh, and that stand-up comedy gig, a relic from a time when a promoter suggested I try my hand at it. You see, when you want something done, you find a way – even if it involves conquering stage fright. ?Yes, dear members of past presentation audiences, it may surprise you, I was always scared. I just flipped the narrative determined to use it as fuel to give you information in as engaging a way as possible.? Please, future employer, spare yourself the agony of those videos; they're but fleeting glimpses of my multifaceted life.? My children, far better than me, may come to you one day for a job, I’d prefer that old footage not be a part of anyone’s influential legacy.

Scrolling further, we uncover the expected gender and political advocacy. And yes, I'm recently divorced – a tidbit that only serves as a reminder of my resilience and unwavering dedication, not a sob story.

Scroll to a couple more SEO revelations – obituaries.? Is this a digital omen or just a strange coincidence? ?Then work-related articles from days of yore remind me of long past glories and early market penetration. Google, must I manually refresh my internet history?? Surely, there is something more contemporary.? Trust me dear recruiter, I have been quite busy.

Then, just before the need to select “Next,” a glimmer of hope – my name beside “An Evening with Stephen Toboloswky.”? ?Whew! Not all is lost in the digital labyrinth. There's a natural balance once more between transparency and intrigue.

In the end, the grand revelation was clear. While the digital world might unveil the "what" of a Pearce Cobarr, it barely scratches the surface of the "who" and "why." I'm the embodiment of determination, the one who navigates life's stages with unwavering resolve.

So, dear future colleagues, while you may know "what a Pearce Cobarr looks like," rest assured that the true essence, the dynamism, and the audacity will be reserved for the workplace. I am Pearce Cobarr – one of a kind, and that's just the beginning of the adventure.

As odd as I may sometimes seem, remember that only a minuscule part of my quirkiness accompanies me to the office. Just enough to keep things interesting, and never so serious that we can't share a laugh. Unless, of course, my office happens to be in an operating room – in which case, well, "Sutures!" suffice.

Speaking of operating rooms, once upon a time, my younger brother declined an invitation to see open-heart surgery in Seattle. He thought it was a band.? Names matter.? They are our initial public-facing brand.? And no matter my role at work, I love developing name brands for companies, products, pets, and kids.? Tideworks Technology,? SSA Marine, ?Carrix, Inc, and a whole lotta software and friends’ companies.? It’s an odd hobby and it fits.?

In the end, dear hiring manager, you may not need to see me in person to know "what a Pearce Cobarr looks like." But trust that intrigue is just a fraction of this story.
