Hello Purpose Seekers,
First and foremost, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts on the cover of my upcoming book, Career Change is Chaos... Unless You Find Your Purple Purpose. Your feedback was insightful, detailed, and overwhelmingly positive, providing both encouragement and clarity. Thanks to your input, I've chosen a cover that not only resonates with the essence of the book but also reflects its heart and soul. I'm excited to share the final design with all of you very soon!
I'm so glad I decided to start dedicating this newsletter to my upcoming book three editions ago. As we count down to the release in mid-October, each edition will focus on exploring the themes and ideas within Career Change is Chaos... Unless You Find Your Purple Purpose. We’ll delve into the Purposeek Coaching Method and give you sneak peeks into some of the book’s content. Today, let's dive into the title itself and the concept of "Purple Purpose."
The notion of purpose is notoriously difficult to grasp and even harder to describe. It's an ever-evolving concept, complex in its many dimensions—meaning, feeling, doing, thinking, and being. It’s almost philosophical, more intangible than concrete.
As I reflected on how to simplify and convey this complex notion, the colour purple came to mind, and I realized how perfectly it pairs with the word "purpose." But what does "Purple Purpose" really represent?
First and foremost, it starts with curiosity. Without curiosity, you won’t embark on the journey of discovering who you are or what your purpose is. Curiosity is the spark that ignites your purpose-seeking journey.
Next is creativity, another attribute of the colour purple. I recall when I worked for a digital agency, the walls were covered in purple because it was considered the colour of creativity and innovation. Creativity is essential in finding your purpose because it requires you to use all your inner resources to explore different paths and try new approaches. Creativity is not limited to artists; it’s an innate part of all of us. I’ve always felt a strong connection to creativity through my love of art, painting, and writing. My father, a self-proclaimed Cartesian and scientist, believed he wasn’t creative. Yet, I remember hearing him speak on a topic once, making beautiful rhymes—something I found incredibly creative. He may not have seen that side of himself, but I did. Creativity is part of us all, and it’s a crucial tool in navigating your purpose-driven journey.

This brings us to the third element—uniqueness. Just as "Purple Rain" is a one-of-a-kind song, your "Purple Purpose" is unique to you. You won’t have heard of it before unless someone had the same inspiration as I did. Why is uniqueness so important? Because your purpose-driven life and career change is also unique. You have your own journey, your own talents, your own way of doing things, and a mission on earth that only you can accomplish. This mission is "Mission Impossible" for anyone else—yes, even Tom Cruise can’t help you here! Embrace your uniqueness and realise that you are the only one who can walk your path. It’s time to stop ignoring your purpose or living out someone else’s and instead, focus on your "Purple Purpose."
The colour purple also symbolizes balance. It’s a mix of the warm, energetic red and the cool, calm blue, representing the harmony needed to pursue a purpose-driven life. Just like the colour itself, finding your purpose requires a balance between action and reflection. It’s not just about doing but also about being, thinking, and feeling. This balance is what allows you to approach life with both passion and tranquillity, leading to true fulfilment.
Now that we've delved into the concept of "Purple Purpose," I hope you have a clearer understanding of what it represents and why it’s such a central theme in my book. This idea isn't just about finding your purpose—it's about embracing the unique, vibrant, and creative journey that leads you to a life of fulfilment. I hope this has sparked your curiosity and inspired you to explore further. I can't wait for you to dive deeper into this concept in my upcoming book, where you'll discover how to harness your own "Purple Purpose" to navigate the chaos of career change. Stay tuned!
With purposeful regards,
