"The Untold Story Behind the Numbers – Is it always about the Balance Sheet???"

"The Untold Story Behind the Numbers – Is it always about the Balance Sheet???"

When our Annual Financial Results were released recently, the numbers looked robust—Profitability, Liquidity, Efficiency ratios, all in tip-top shape. But, here’s the thing—behind all these numbers is a story that doesn't show up on any balance sheet. It’s a story worth telling.

While others might share the glossy snapshot of our success, I want to peel back the layers a bit. You know, like how when you get a box of sweets in the office and the outer packaging looks great—but the real magic happens inside. It’s the mithai that counts!

So, let me take you behind the scenes.

It’s the People, Stupid! (And I mean that in the nicest way possible)

Our CEO put it best: On being congratulated for the good results, he shrugged and said, "We (the Exec team & the Board) are really at the bottom of the tree, and the staff are the ones who deserve the credit." I mean, how refreshing is that? The numbers we’re all so proud of? That’s our people. Those late-night brainstorming sessions over samosas, the heated discussions that cooled down over endless cups of chai, and the "just one more" deadline extensions that we somehow always managed to meet.

We’ve always believed that our strength lies in our people-centric culture. It’s not just about task lists and targets; it’s about feeling like you’re part of something bigger. It's those moments when a colleague goes out of their way to help with a client issue on a weekend, not because they have to, but because they want to. Or the spontaneous office potlucks, where you realize that while our financials are solid, the real secret sauce to our success is the puran poli or the modak :-)

Customer-Centric to the Core (And Sometimes at the Cost of Our Sleep!)

One thing our results don’t show? The lengths we’ve gone to make sure our customers are happy. And boy, do we go the extra mile! Whether it’s hopping on a 3 AM call because of a time-zone hiccup, or reimagining entire workflows because a client had a new idea over their morning coffee—our customer-centric mindset is what has kept us thriving in times when others may have stumbled.

I can’t count the number of times our teams have worked round the clock to ensure that not only are customer needs met, but we also anticipate their challenges before they even know they have them. That’s the kind of dedication that makes these financials possible.

Expanding Horizons, One Product at a Time (While Dodging Geopolitical Landmines)

Oh, and let’s not forget about how our strategic expansion through acquisitions and expansion of product portfolio contributes to our success! The verticals we serve are core sectors that sustain the everyday needs of businesses and consumers alike. And this focus on essentials has been our fortress against the headwinds. Our strength isn’t just in what we offer—it’s in how diversified we are. With over 600+ customers, we’ve made sure we don’t lean too heavily on one or two key clients. Instead, our spread allows us to secure growth and safeguard our future, regardless of what curveballs the economy throws our way. Each customer we work with is a vital part of our success story, and this wide, reliable base keeps us resilient and ready.

It wasn’t easy, though. Navigating tricky regulations in some regions and ensuring our products met compliance standards everywhere was like trying to find the perfect balance between spicy and sweet in a chaat. But guess what? We nailed it.

The True Bottom Line: It’s All About Us

The truth is, the financial results are the outcome, not the story. The story is in every colleague who stayed late to finish a project, every customer who sent in a ‘thank you’ note, and every innovation we collectively birthed over virtual and physical meeting rooms. And sure, the numbers are great. But they’re just a reflection of the heart, hustle, and humor that make this place what it is.

So, here’s to us—the people behind the balance sheet. Let’s keep this story going strong, and maybe even sneak in a few more office parties while we’re at it. After all, it’s not just about reaching new heights; it’s about enjoying the view with the people who got us here.

Cheers to an even brighter future—one filled with more stories, more successes, and probably a few more vada pavs!
