UnternehmerTUM Goes International (March 2024)

Konnichiwa,

This is how our colleagues who traveled to Tokyo with Rise Europe in March were welcomed. In order to pave the way for European start-ups to enter the Japanese market, we met our partners in their capital city to explore the local innovation scene and present our European start-up projects.?

Why Japan?

1. Japan is one of the largest and most advanced economies in the world.

2. The demand for technology, healthcare, and environmental solutions?is huge.

3. The Japanese market offers access to highly skilled professionals, first-class research facilities?and a well-developed financial and investment ecosystem.

Kevin Berghoff , CEO of QuantumDiamonds , who joined the group, can also confirm this: "We are leaving Japan with promising new contacts in the electronics and healthcare/pharma sectors".

Find out in our topics why Munich provides the best conditions for international contacts.

Dr. Robert Habeck is Looking Forward to Many More UnternehmerTUM’s

The following questions arose during the visit of the Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection in February: In what should we invest more? Cyber security, AI, and defense systems? In Germany, the capital market is still risk-averse. The situation is different in other countries, whose financiers are more in favor of the potential of new technologies (from Germany).?

The German government's start-up strategy, which also includes the "Leuchtturmwettbewerb Start-up Factories", aims to support more start-up hubs in Germany to promote innovation, following the example of UnternehmerTUM.

Sleepless Nights: The New Podcast from UnternehmerTUM

Every second Tuesday, Hans-Jürgen Jakobs , journalist and author, and Christian Mohr , Managing Director and CCO of UnternehmerTUM, talk to family entrepreneurs. They openly discuss doubts, trade-offs, wrong decisions, and their often harsh consequences. The podcast "Sleepless Nights" is about shedding light on the biggest challenges facing family businesses, because for Christian Mohr it is clear: "In the small and medium-sized business sector, everyone talks about the 'hidden champions', but the time of 'hidden' is over. Family businesses need to become more visible in their communication".?
