1. Awareness of Thought Patterns
Recognizing negative or limiting thoughts is the first step in overcoming mindset blocks and ultimately untapping your potential. Self-reflection allows you to observe and become aware of recurring thought patterns - ones that are negative, limiting, positive, etc. Write down your thought patterns in a journal, and note when they appeared and if you could determine what triggered them.
2. Understanding Triggers
Relating to our previous section, reflection allows you to identify the situations or triggers that evoke specific reactions. Understanding these triggers helps you proactively address challenges instead of reacting impulsively. For example: If someone makes a change in schedule or direction or instruction and that frustrates you, take a breather to address this issue. What is it about change that triggers you? What is the underlying problem? How can you move forward in a mature manner?
3. Clarity on Core Beliefs
Deep reflection can also help unveil your core beliefs about yourself and the world. When we really take the time to get to know ourselves, we can learn a lot more than we originally thought! Identifying and challenging limiting beliefs enables you to reshape your mindset and foster a more positive outlook. And with a shifted mindset and positive outlook, you can truly do anything. 4. Evaluation of Past Experiences
Reflecting on past experiences provides valuable insights into how they shaped your current mindset. When we’re going through tough or frustrating situations, we can feel one way about it in that specific moment, but once we step back and take time away from it, we can begin evaluating it from a different perspective. In some instances, we can’t think clearly, so rethinking situations hours, days, weeks, or even months after they happened can become an essential technique to learning more about you. Recognizing the impact of past events allows for intentional reframing and healing.

5. Goal Alignment
Self-reflection helps align your mindset with your current goals and values. When you understand your aspirations and values, you can intentionally adjust your mindset to support, rather than hinder, your journey! Our mindset is truly the key to everything we do; once you shift to one that supports you and provides you with hopes of success and abundance, your journey will instantly look much brighter, allowing you to actually reach your goals instead of setting and forgetting.?
