The Untapped Potential: How Fertility Benefits Can Boost Your Organisation’s Profitability

In today's competitive business landscape, companies are constantly searching for ways to attract and retain top talent. One often overlooked yet highly impactful area is fertility benefits. Offering comprehensive fertility support not only aligns with values of inclusivity and employee well-being but also has a direct positive impact on your organisation’s bottom line. Here's why:

?

1. Attract and Retain Top Talent

Top talent seeks employers who understand and support their personal and family goals. Providing fertility benefits is a clear signal that your organisation values its employees beyond their professional contributions. This can be a decisive factor for potential hires and a compelling reason for current employees to stay.

?

2. Reduce Absenteeism and Increase Productivity

Employees facing fertility challenges often experience significant stress and anxiety, which can lead to increased absenteeism and decreased productivity. By offering fertility benefits, you provide crucial support that can help alleviate this stress, allowing employees to remain focused and productive at work.

?

3. Foster a Positive Workplace Culture

Inclusive and supportive workplace cultures are essential for employee satisfaction and engagement. When employees feel valued and supported in all aspects of their lives, including their fertility journeys, they are more likely to be engaged and committed to their work.

?

4. Enhance Employer Brand

Companies known for their strong benefits packages, including fertility support, stand out in the marketplace. This enhances your employer brand, making it easier to attract quality candidates and improving overall organisational reputation.

?

5. Drive Innovation and Growth

A diverse workforce brings diverse perspectives, leading to more innovative solutions and better decision-making. By supporting employees through fertility benefits, you help ensure that talented individuals remain with your company, contributing their unique insights and driving growth.

Client case study: Implementing Fertility Support Through Webinars, Workshops and Education.

Recently, I partnered with a construction company to introduce fertility benefits and support. We implemented a comprehensive roadmap that included one-hour Lunch and Learn webinars, and half-day workshops to educate HR, managers and leaders about fertility challenges and the support required. Over six months, we also provided consulting services to ensure seamless integration.

?

The Outcomes Were Significant

With nearly 18% of your workforce at any one time now struggling with fertility challenges and most not feeling safe enough to come forward infertility is still largely an invisible disease. As a direct result of our work together 7 of their top employees felt safe enough to come forward to talk about their struggles and the company was able to put together a roadmap forward for these people. They are now happier, able to show up and give 100% to their work and this company now gets to retain some of their top people! It truly is a win-win. Without our work together this would not have been possible and we know for a fact 5 were planning on leaving the organisation because of their lack of fertility support.

?

The Cost of Inaction

Failing to provide fertility benefits can have significant repercussions. Companies that ignore this aspect of employee well-being risk losing talented team members to organisations that do offer such support. Moreover, the absence of fertility benefits can lead to increased healthcare costs associated with stress-related illnesses and decreased employee morale.

?

Inaction also places your organisation behind the curve. As more companies recognise the value of fertility benefits, those who do not adapt will find themselves at a competitive disadvantage. The loss of skilled employees and the inability to attract top talent will inevitably impact profitability and growth.

?

Investing in fertility benefits is not just a compassionate choice; it is a strategic business decision. By supporting your employees in their fertility journeys, you enhance loyalty, boost productivity, foster a positive work culture, and ultimately increase profitability. It’s time to act now and secure a prosperous future for both your employees and your organisation.
