The Unsung Heroes of Engineering - Gaskets
In this edition, we spotlight one of the most crucial yet often overlooked components in engineering – gaskets. Gaskets are critical components that ensure the integrity and safety of countless mechanical systems. They are designed to fill the space between two or more mating surfaces, preventing leaks and maintaining the desired pressure and temperature conditions. At Tranos, we manufacture high-quality gaskets (WESEAL) that meet the stringent demands of modern engineering.?
Types of Gaskets We Offer?
Spiral Wound Gaskets??
This features metallic strip materials such as Stainless Steel AISI 304, 316L, 321, Monel, Carbon steel, Nickel 200, Inconel, and Titanium. Other materials are available upon request.??
The non-metallic filler materials include PTFE, flexible graphite, and mica-graphite.??
Configurations range from gaskets without inner and outer rings, with inner and outer rings, outer ring only, and inner ring only.??
Our spiral-wound gaskets comply with ASME B16.20 and are ideal for high-pressure/temperature applications, flanges (ASME/ANSI), heat exchangers, steam system applications, and other equipment.?
?
Kammprofile Gaskets (grooved metal gaskets with covering layers)??
They consist of a grooved metal core and a centering ring made from stainless steel 304 and 316L (other materials available upon request), covered with a soft-facing material either flexible graphite, PTFE, mica, and other materials upon request.??
Configurations include gaskets with core and facing material only, gaskets with core, facing material, and loose outer ring, gaskets with core, facing material, and integral outer ring.?
These gaskets are suitable for high-pressure/temperature applications, pipeline systems, heat exchangers, petrochemical and chemical applications, power plants, and other equipment.?
?
Non-metallic or Soft cut gaskets??

Our non-metallic gaskets are manufactured by ASME B16.21 and are ideal for low to medium-pressure and temperatures applications depending on the material. Materials available are non-asbestos, P.T.F.E, Graphite, NBR, and other materials are available on request.?
They are suitable for a wide range of corrosive chemicals and applications. There are two types of non-metallic gaskets, the flat ring or ring type which can be used on a raised face flange, and the full-face type which can be used on a flat face flange.?
