Unstoppable Now: Reimagining New Futures

Throughout June, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is in the spotlight as we recognize National Indigenous History Month here in Canada, the global launch of Pride Month, and Juneteenth, the U.S. federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.? History is rooted in systems designed to exclude most people. Paradoxically, greater diversity can drive up all the things in the human condition that make inclusion harder and equity more elusive. Human beings are constantly scanning for threats, real or imagined, and “the other” is a classic favorite of people throughout time. Diversity is our strength and our superpower, and our relationship to diversity can quickly become our weakness.
Unraveling any system is always an enormous challenge. Systems whose roots are oppression, built on the crime of slavery and colonialism, sustained by maintaining gross inequities, are a challenge humanity has so far been unable to solve. But solving it is the only path to creating a world that works for everyone, not just a select few.
Dramatic shifts in diversity, equity, and inclusion are natural outcomes of Unstoppable’s transformational approach. We are in the business of enabling leaders and organizations to uncover, name, and dismantle the intangible mental models that block progress. It is through seeing and naming our own mental models, confronting and being responsible for the impact of them, that we can reimagine new possibilities for the future and create the world anew. “Be the change” starts with Be, not with Change.
