After Climate Week last month, and with the 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (COP 29) coming up in November, all eyes are on some of the world’s most influential leaders convening about humanity’s most urgent issue.?

In the face of the complex, seemingly insurmountable challenges brought on by climate change, the question is: How can we effectively work together globally toward the complex solutions required to advance our future?

Bringing about the paradigm shifts needed to survive climate change requires transformative leadership.

By now, there are countless playbooks on how to address the climate emergency — but old systems die hard, and preconceived notions about what is possible limit openness to the possibilities necessary to drive real systemic change.

Transformative leadership starts with simple, basic capabilities: human-level inquiry, exploration, and collaboration. To empower one another in collective climate action at a scale that actually moves the needle, we must consider: What is the root cause of what impedes true collaboration? What is holding us back from taking the appropriately bold risks that would dismantle existing patterns and systems? What could a climate-positive future look like if we throw out any and all structural confines of the status quo??
