UNSTOPPABLE - The New Maxim For Business Success

I want to be UNSTOPPABLE.

Every 4 Years the Winter Olympics grace us with moments of inspiration, depth, and fortitude. I am reminded of a few moments in my business life where I catch the vision the Olympics affords us. Moments where I see these athletes at the pinnacle of their careers, but also with moments where the Human Spirit never ceases to amaze.

There are many extenuating circumstances in 2018. Among them, are a tight labor market, an economy with new realities, technological, macro, micro, environmental and otherwise. The political environment is more interesting than ever before. Further, there seem to be plenty of moments where life may seem insurmountable, even impossible. As one looks at what the realities of the business world demand, there is one thing that just keeps coming back, that is to be - UNSTOPPABLE. In other words to keep going, keep pushing, and driving.

In this new world be prepared for people to underestimate you. At times, they may not understand what drives you, but your inner vision of success must constantly be at the forefront of every single endeavor. Along the way will be moments where you will need to rise above the challengers to your business principles, to your inner vision.

Being Unstoppable is a life-long pursuit. There is nothing that can stop sheer drive, ambition, and focused energy to that long term goal, whatever that is that we choose to espouse. As the year continues on, and we are nearing the halfway point of February, it is a vital time to take stock of where you are at with your own personal goals.

I have always believed in the power of vision, internal vision that is. Deep down inside of you there is this desire to achieve greater things, to become more than you are today, to rise above naysayers, critics, or perhaps just your own inner critic, as one wise mentor once said. The inner critic is the one that says "you can't" or "you shouldn't". Whatever it is that is holding you back, whether internal, emotional, or certain current factors in your world today, let those critics see your own inner resolve to achieve more than they even thought possible. Let the winning vision drive outcomes above and beyond the moments that seem insurmountable. Keep inside yourself that vision of your pinnacle, your zenith, your mountain top. Let the inward vision drive you to the place only you can accomplish.

Always remember the reality that if one door closes another will open. Always keep that attitude of "can do", the reality that you will "Never Never Never Give Up" - as Sir Winston Churchill once said. Remember the odds that Churchill and England faced during World War II? Take a lesson from the past. When odds seemed insurmountable, when everything seemed to be lost, and there was no hope, in Dunkirk when England's Army was on the ropes, it was Churchill who rallied a civilian boat armada full of civilian maritime sailors who answered his call and rescued upwards of 300,000 men. What if? What if those men had been lost and England had decided not to fight back against the whiles of their enemy? What if they had kowtowed to the deniers? What if they had fallen and their country didn't make it? God only knows.

It's a lesson in fortitude. It's a lesson in desire and purpose. We do know that Churchill and England succeeded. And it was from England that the Allies staged in 1944 D-Day which liberated the world from the tyranny of the day. What of the tyranny of our own circumstances? What of overcoming the tyranny of the doubters, the naysayers, and the critics of your life? UNSTOPPABLE means all the more to me as the years go on. It's the lesson of history, the inspiration of Athletes now competing in South Korea, and a bright beacon of hope sent to the forefront of vision that gives this new meaning of "UNSTOPPABLE" to me.

If it so be that your business circumstances, or for that matter your business fate changes as a result of a new direction your company, your family, your circumstances take, prepare your network, prepare for your big picture, and keep an eye on your long term goal. What is that goal? Where will it lead? How can you position yourself to stand the test of time, and leave a lasting legacy that will build forward momentum for years to come? A legacy that will change lives, make a Human impact, and build momentum forward? UNSTOPPABLE. Is it so much to realize that when the time comes for you to find that very drive that will lead to remarkable outcomes, that the desired direction will come from your own inward resolve to see it done?

Yes - this is what this current business climate demands. And what's more? The lasting changes, and circumstances that have led to this point of business change are just one new iteration to the greater whole of reality. The big picture coupled with faith and vision are the necessary points of reference that can help you emerge out of any challenge, reality or circumstance that anyone, or anything puts in front of you.

It's been years of lessons to learn this for myself, and through time and experience, I have learned to drive forward even when ambiguity sets in. At times yes, we wish we had a crystal ball, that we could predict the outcomes to position ourselves so there are no surprises, but alas, this is our business world. All you have control over is what you physically can see in front of you, and what you can comprehend all around you. Sometimes the vision of the big picture will come in due time.

Lastly, it's important to always be driving and focused forward to create the lasting legacy of outcomes that lift others, create value, and make a new direction a reality. Regardless of the circumstances or the realities of business, let nothing stop you from achieving your inward vision for success.
