The Unseen Hero of Our Professional Career

In the tapestry of our professional lives, there are threads—subtle yet strong—that connect us back to individuals who profoundly impacted our journey. In 1981, as a young school student, I found myself in a rebellious clash with my headmaster. In a moment of frustration, I tore his kurta because he wouldn’t allow me to leave school early. I feared his anger and reprisal. However, eight years later, during my second year of engineering, a chance encounter with him in my hometown opened my eyes to a different perspective.

Seeing him after so many years, I expected awkwardness or disapproval. Instead, I was met with a look of pride and achievement. It was akin to the joy in my parents’ eyes when I was admitted to engineering college. This headmaster, who I once saw as an adversary, was actually a silent guardian of my future.

This realization was echoed this week when Dr. Abhishek Ray and Prof.(Dr.) Prachet Bhuyan visited CSG . Their arrival triggered a wave of excitement among the ex-students of KIIT Training and Placement KIIT - Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology . These former students, now professionals, were eager to reunite with their beloved professors. It was a reunion marked by gratitude and respect for the educators who had played a crucial role in their lives.

These moments illuminate a universal truth in our professional journeys: the presence of unseen heroes. These heroes aren't always the ones who offer us overt guidance or take center stage in our achievements. Instead, they are the ones who challenge us, who stand firm when we are unreasonable, and who, through their expectations and sometimes their reprimands, push us towards our potential.
