As we slowly get back on our feet and pick up the pieces from the impact of COVID-19, I think we can highlight IT and ICT infrastructure has become a strategic cornerstone in this global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. It not only helped governments directly fight the pandemic, but also become significantly more important in supporting economic activities and social operations. Technologies such as WiFi, IOT, AI, Cloud computing and data analytics are receiving much attention in our fight against COVID-19. There are unseen hands helping to make these critical technology services running, IT professionals working around the clock making sure IT and ICT infrastructures are secure, up and running and available.
Information Technology will have an important role to play in the containment and treatment of outbreaks like COVID-19. I genuinely believe that technologies such as WiFi, IOT, AI, Cloud computing and data analytics can be fully harnessed to control and potentially prevent the next global pandemic. As we continue to cheer for our frontline health workers, let us cheer all of the workers who are also battling COVID-19 from various frontlines!
