Unreasonable Hospitality: The Business of Creating Extraordinary Experiences

At ExV, we believe the intersection between business and hospitality has not been showcased and captured better than by Will Guidara's book "Unreasonable Hospitality: The Remarkable Power of Giving People More Than They Expect."

Will Guidara was just twenty-six when he took the helm of Eleven Madison Park, a struggling two-star brasserie that had never quite lived up to its majestic room. Eleven years later, EMP was named the best restaurant in the world. Today, every business can choose to be a hospitality business - and we can all transform ordinary transactions into extraordinary experiences.

This is an ethos Frank and I have held and shared throughout our careers. We understood early on that taking care of people, taking the time to listen and understand their needs, and treating them with respect and kindness goes a long way. It goes beyond any transaction and cements true relationships and how people will remember you - and come back to you.

At ExV, going above and beyond through kindness and care is the most important part of our core values. Beyond that - it is who we are as individuals. It's the little things we continue to do to make clients, business partners, and associates feel special that always makes a mark.

Don’t be afraid to lead with value and kindness. It is truly what is needed in this world, and we will never have enough of it.

Want to know how to stand out in any business? Treat people beautifully, consistently. It's as simple as that.
