The Unravelling of Globalisation
The world economy has not been able to internalise globalisation in the best possible way over the past twenty years. Whereas I can forgive policymakers for not adopting the right policies in order to spread the benefits of globalisation better before the financial crisis, my view is that the crisis should have been a huge wake-up call.
Unfortunately, eight years since, the global economic situation has been largely misunderstood and as a result we’re not seeing the right policies come through. In this interview for Money Week led by the excellent Merryn Somerset Webb I discuss the implications for the world economy and financial markets. You can read my detailed analysis on these issues here.
