Unprecedented Success During Unusual Times

I am excited to share that this week our company, Floyd Lee Locums, was ranked No. 925 on the list of America’s Fastest-Growing Companies, the Inc 5000.?Having only been founded four years ago, it’s humbling to be recognized in our first year of eligibility. As a healthcare staffing firm dedicated to supporting clinicians’ careers and healthcare facilities across America, we recognize how challenging the pandemic has been for organizations everywhere. But our team keeps pushing for better and living by our motto: ‘By connecting clinicians to purposeful work, we impact lives.’

2020 was the year of the pandemic, and for us, the stakes couldn’t have been higher. Patients, clinicians, and healthcare facilities across our country were looking for direction and support in unprecedented times.

Patients were worried they couldn’t get the care they needed or were too afraid to seek it out. The healthcare providers we staffed were canceling their work assignments in record numbers due to their own COVID-19 concerns. Care facilities had to rapidly scale and employ respiratory practitioners to account for the increased patient cases coming through the doors.

All of this amounted to a crippling of the care industry. But while other companies and staffing agencies were cutting pay and/or staff internally, we were building our workforce and executive team. Where others took away benefits or furloughed employees, we created a model that had staff available to hospitals 24/7 through weekends and holidays. We designed a Rapid Response program that could get a high-quality physician identified, credentialed, and placed in a care setting in record time.

The end result? Patients getting the treatment they needed—in some cases, life-saving treatment. Locums (i.e., temporary) clinicians stepping into overburdened healthcare facilities to prevent burnout and alleviate the strain on existing staff. Care facilities being able to manage the waves of the pandemic through supplemental support when it was needed.

Our greatest achievement was ensuring the promise of care for everyone who walks through a hospital or clinic door. In 2020, our company’s motto never felt truer: “By connecting clinicians to purposeful work, we impact lives.” Even though our organization is a spry 4 years old, we have seen the unique value we bring to healthcare staffing. This industry, forged over centuries, is now facing rapid expansion and modernization from the changes in care delivery (e.g., telehealth) and technology. Floyd Lee Locums’ singular advantage is that we are able to be nimble and address healthcare staffing challenges at the most impactful times.

In 2021 and beyond, we plan to expand our service model to additional forms of staffing; grow our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion industry presence to break down historical barriers to care for those of diverse backgrounds; and bolster our business with additional headcount and a refreshed brand offering. Taken together, we believe we can grow as a thought leader in healthcare staffing and build a new culture of care nationwide.

We are proud to be among Inc. magazine’s fastest-growing companies in America. It’s humbling to rank among household brands and giants of industry. But we know we have much more work to do—as a company and in healthcare—and we look forward to all that’s ahead!
