"Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes...including you." – Anne Lamott
As international students and professionals, we often find ourselves immersed in the relentless pursuit of our goals, striving to adapt, excel, and make the most of the opportunities that come our way. While consistency and hard work are key to success, it’s equally important to take a step back, breathe, and allow ourselves the time to recharge.
Yesterday, I had the chance to visit the breathtaking Niagara Falls, and it served as a powerful reminder of the importance of balance. The roaring water cascading endlessly reminded me that just as nature has its rhythm, so should we. Pausing to appreciate moments like this can bring clarity and rejuvenate our minds, helping us return to our goals with renewed focus and energy. For international students navigating new cultures, academic pressures, and career aspirations, taking time for yourself isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.
Whether it’s a walk in nature, exploring a local landmark, or simply disconnecting for a day, these moments can help us maintain our mental and emotional well-being.
Remember, your journey isn’t just about the destination. It’s about finding joy and balance along the way. What are your favorite ways to unplug and recharge? Let me know in the comments!

1 个月A heart-warming post it is! Taking a pause to reflect back on what you have achieved and where you are heading is so crucial in today's day and age. A few things I do that help me recharge instantly are reuniting with my friends, talking to my family and decluttering my space. It can be so relaxing!
