Today’s customer is searching for answers, solutions, services, products and entertainment on Google. The better we’re listed, the better chance we get new business.
In the past few weeks the SEO industry have been witnessing a large Google ranking or algorithm update happening right now in the core Google web search results. This update has been named the Fred update[unofficial] and it seems to target more of the link quality aspects of the overall algorithm. There is a drop in traffic happened on most sites on the 7th of March 2017 and has continued.
The discussion forums , social groups, blogs are actively discussing about this update and how it will impact their business. Just came across this thought I would share maybe some will find useful an explore more. Here are the possible reasons behind the victims
- Spam Backlinks
- Sidewide links from PBN [Private Blog Network - A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a network of authoritative websites used to build links to your money website(s) for the purpose of ranking higher in the Google search engine.]
- Same Anchor text every where
Possible ways to overcome this penalty
- Don't use Low Quality PBN.
- Quality Comments on the website.
- Remove all duplicate content.
- Always use Meta Description to optimize your Keywords.
- Check your website code validations
Google has not confirmed or denied an update – we are waiting to hear back from Google on if they have any comment or not.
