Arcsky has released the X55 quad-rotor UAV, a new multi-role industrial drone designed for applications such as inspection, mapping, search & rescue, cinematography, agriculture, border patrol, and more.?The X55 features two interchangeable power modules; a hybrid gas-electric module for up to 3 hour flight times with smaller payloads of up to 6 pounds, and a battery module for heavier payloads of up to 20 pounds with a flight time of up to 23 minutes. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) has tested a PT6 E-Series turboprop engine from Pratt & Whitney Canada on the MQ-9B SkyGuardian Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA). Integrating the PT6 E-Series engine onto the MQ-9B aircraft offers an alternate option for future customers that includes a 33% increase in power, dual channel electronic propeller and engine control system.
