Its quite a task today to comprehend What “Holistic Wellbeing” is ? ?How is it relevant to our lives? 7th April Sunday was the? World Health Day (Google reminded me of the same)
While the day is aimed at raising awareness about Global Health Issues and recognizing how important our health is? at all levels like Individual/Organizational etc, there is a lot more for us to do consistently at an Individual level and the Organizational level.
The theme for World Health Day 2024 has been ” My health, My right” While we realize that this is fundamental right for all ,we need to ponder over questions like - Is this fundamental right really being enjoyed by all ? What does Health really mean ? Does it cover just one dimension – Physical Health or is there more to it ? Are we doing enough to promote well - being for all ? Have we really been able to Unlock – Holistic Wellbeing ? A Topic which needs a lot of contemplation and my post can just serve the purpose of helping us reflect? on ?- Holistic Wellbeing.
Gone are the days when only Physical Health mattered. We all realize that there are more dimensions to wellbeing. Here is an attempt to understand how Wellbeing is multidimensional.
1) Physical – This includes Food, Nutrition,? Exercise and all that goes into taking care of our body.
2) Emotional/Psycological – Cultivating resilience, managing stress, and nurturing a positive self-image to cope with life's challenges.

3) Social Connections – Fostering meaningful relationships with family, friends, and communities, thereby fostering a sense of belonging and support.
4) Spiritual – Connecting with our inner selves, finding purpose and meaning, and embracing practices that nurture our spiritual growth and alignment. Practices like Meditation, Nature walk, Journalling, Purpose centric living ,anything that put you in a “flow state”
5) Intellectual – Expanding our Knowledge and Skills? to live an enjoyable life
6) Economic Wellness – Ensuring financial stability and security, which enables us to meet our basic needs and pursue our aspirations without undue stress.
While we do a lot of things to take care of “Wellbeing” which is multidimensional,
I would love to know the two activities that you do consistently which centers around your wellbeing.
