Unlocking Your Inner Confidence: Tips for Making the Right Decisions
Many people get stuck in the process of taking the right decision, because they cannot see through it. They are so concerned about the outcome of the decision, that they forget about the process and what they may learn from it, which quite often is as valuable or even more valuable than the outcome itself.??
Are you finding yourself in this?
For me, making the right decision is about asking myself, who will I become while committing to this journey? Because the process might be straightforward or with challenges along the way. But do I feel it is worth it for my own personal growth as a person and as a coach?
The right decision will show itself in the motion of moving forward, and what I invite you to observe and reflect on, is on the process of how you make decisions, how do you consider what is “right” or “wrong” for you.?
The quality of your decisions is directly impacted by the quality of your thinking process and capacity to see things from different angles and perspectives.?
The thinking process of making that decision, selecting the options available to you, seeing beyond the obstacles, that is what will increase your chances of making qualitative decisions.?
Because in life, sometimes, no matter how much you try to anticipate every step, inevitable and unexpected always shows in, in good ways or as learning experiences.?
And when you pay attention to your #thinking process, even those bad experiences, become learning experience, because the way you have made the decision, already considered that there is also a lot to win and to learn even if the outcome is not the desired one, not yet !??
I highlight not yet, because this way of looking at things, that they are in the process of making and one failure doesn’t equal total failure, it’s something that is very helpful when you want to create change and learn how to become the steward of your life, making qualitative decisions.
You become a sort of of #alchemist of your negative thinking, transforming negative into positive, choosing to see the #silverlining in each situation is the gold of personal development.?
Because when you learn to look at #decisions as qualitative, the extremes of bad or good decisions are eliminated. When you focus on the quality of your decision, you also consider the #process and not just the #outcome. And in the worst case scenario, the least you can learn is that, that thing is not for you, you don’t like it.?
But what is more empowering for you: saying that you have decided to pursue something and along the way you have realized it’s not for you or just say you didn’t pursue something because you were afraid you won’t succeed?
What is more enriching? Staying in the fear of what could be or taking a brave jump and make your own opinion about it?
So here is my short list of how to gain confidence in making qualitative decisions:?
4.?????Anticipate failure and also ways to overcome it.?
5.?????Give yourself a second chance if first attempt is not a success. When you take a decision, it also implies commitment to something bigger and seeing the process in more complex ways than just trying it once.?
6.?????Who will I become in the process? Does it help me to grow?
7.?????Anticipate success and imagine yourself there. How does it feel? It is worth it to pursue this?

8.?????How will a successful outcome of your decision impact positively your life? What would change?
9.?????If there is no lose or win in taking this decision, what would still motivate you to pursue it and why?
Practicing taking decisions you feel confident about takes time to reach a comfortable level.
And you will also discover taking decisions never becomes comfortable, but you learn how to sit with the uncomfortable, explore it and face the fear and jump.
Some people have it in their gut and will know instantly what route to follow. Others will have to make lists and “sleep on it” to get the answer. This will evolve as you know yourself better and learn to recognize yourself and your body sensations when you feel aligned with a decision. And until then, practice the steps above.?
What is one decision you are currently struggling with? How about using the steps above?
And if that feels too difficult now, you can always reach out for my support. We can navigate together the challenges you face in making the decision and learn how to bring #clarity in your #thinking process and move forward in your life.?
A core function of?professional?#coaching is that?it?helps?people with the quality of their thinking about issues that are important to them.?
One of the ways effective coaches do this is to ask powerful questions - questions that oblige the learner to engage with different perspectives on their issues.?
Coaching is powerful because the person being on the receiving end of coaching is in a space where his or her thinking will be expanded, will be challenged, will be explorative for new possibilities, all crafted with the richness of their minds, their creativity and energy.?
The coach is merely orchestrating the process of thinking, while the coachee will navigate with guidance the midst of their own thinking, thoughts and views of the world developed in their life experience.??
The process of coaching is explorative and starts from the assumptions that all answers that are being pursued are inside the coachee. And with coaching, the coachee will be able to reveal them step by step and get more empowered.
Because what else is more empowering that building the evidence that you’ve got the answers and you are capable of making the decisions that best serve your life, with no paralyzing self-doubt, no dependency, no fear that is blocking you.?
