As I reflect on my initial three months as the Chair of Chronic Aid Care (CAIC)'s Advisory Board, I'm filled with immense pride for our remarkable progress. Working closely with our dedicated executive team, we've successfully brought aboard an extraordinary group of advisors, including Eva Tu , Anton Podolyak , and Basil, each contributing a unique blend of expertise and perspective.
What truly inspires me about CAIC is its unwavering commitment to addressing a critical gap in healthcare - the administration of kindness to patients grappling with chronic diseases. The passion and determination of individuals like Daniel Zafirovski, MBA , Jack Swain , and Frank, who lead this charge, are remarkable. They persistently work towards their mission, continually setting milestones and addressing investor concerns, with even one of Australia's largest private healthcare providers recognising the value of their efforts.
Every interaction with the CAIC team leaves me invigorated and enthusiastic about the exciting journey that lies ahead.
In my role as Chair of the CAIC Advisory Board, I've gained invaluable insights, and I'd like to share three key takeaways that have significantly shaped our path:
1. Focus on Progress: Our executive team is entrusted with day-to-day decisions, and my role is to ensure we keep moving forward strategically.
2. Embrace Feedback: Embracing the "stinky fish" - being upfront with advisors and welcoming their observations - is essential. Fresh perspectives often pave the way for new opportunities.
3. Curiosity is Key: I highly value the practice of asking probing questions of both advisors and the executive team. Every individual brings a unique perspective and story to the table, and understanding those stories strengthens our relationships and fosters learning.
Diversity within our advisory board has played a pivotal role in propelling CAIC forward. It's not just a checkbox; it's a cornerstone of our success in healthcare innovation.
