Unlocking the Power of Vulnerability to Build Unshakeable Confidence

Welcome to this edition of "The Morning Mindset with Kisha Hicks" newsletter, where we dive into the key takeaways from our recent livestream on "The Power of Vulnerability in Building Confidence." If you missed the live session, don't worry—I've got you covered with a recap and some actionable insights to take your leadership journey to the next level.

Embracing Vulnerability: A Professional Superpower

In our latest episode, we explored how vulnerability is not just a personal trait but a professional superpower that can strengthen your leadership. By showing up as your authentic self and being honest about your feelings and experiences, you can foster deeper connections and more meaningful achievements, both personally and professionally.

Personal and Professional Awareness Through Reflection

We delved into the importance of reflection in understanding how vulnerability impacts our lives. Here are a few questions to consider:

  • When was the last time you shared a personal struggle with someone? How did it feel?
  • Have you ever admitted to a mistake at work? What was the outcome?
  • How comfortable do you feel asking for help or feedback in a professional setting?

By reflecting on these questions, you can identify areas where embracing vulnerability can lead to growth and empowerment.

The OPENUP Acronym: A Guide to Embracing Vulnerability

To help you incorporate vulnerability into your daily life, we introduced the OPENUP acronym:

  • Own your feelings
  • Practice self-compassion
  • Encourage openness
  • Navigate uncertainty
  • Understand your boundaries
  • Prioritize connection

By following these steps, you're not just embracing vulnerability; you're building a foundation for unshakeable confidence.

Morning Devotion God wants you to know that you need to "Look Up" and know where your help comes from. Because when you look to yourself, you are tempted to be self-reliant instead of relying on Jesus. You begin to think more highly of yourself and forget how much you need Jesus and before you know it, you’ve drifted from your faith and total trust in Him. But when you look up to God... ?? You let go of feeling like you need to do it all by yourself. ?? You are reminded of how little control you have over your life and how much you need Him. ?? You reflect on Jesus’ death on the cross and realize this was the ultimate display of love for you. ?? You stay grounded in an ever changing chaotic world. You have confidence, not in yourself, but in Him who promised never to leave you or forsake you. ?? You walk faithfully in obedience to His word in preparation for your heavenly home. Bottom line, when you don't know where else to turn, when you don't know what to do next or where to go, look up to God. He is the one who will see you through and bring you through faithfully. {Meditation Verse: Psalms 121:1-2 KJV}
