I am posing two interesting questions regarding to Procurement and the climate in regard to achieving sustainable climate goals; 1. What is the impact of procurement on the climate? 2. What is the impact of the climate on procurement? The impact of procurement on the climate is the easier question to answer but the second question is a bit more difficult to conceptualize in regards to achieving climate goals. The answer to the issue of unlocking procurement power on achieving climate goals will depend on the design of the procurement procedures, processes, policies and systems. It is important to remember that the sustainable procurement agenda in general and its application to climate change impacts in particular are still fairly recent and underdeveloped.
