Unlocking the Power of LinkedIn Keywords

Did you know LinkedIn has a function to tell you what keywords your profile is missing for your target position? This is my #1 LinkedIn Hack, and it will only take you 5 minutes!

?The Build a Resume function?

? Go to your ?????????????? ????????????????.

? Click on the ???????? ????????????.

? Select "?????????? ?? ????????????"

Now you can either:

1. Build a new resume from your profile (do this if your LinkedIn Profile is already totally filled out)

OR

2. Build a profile from your resume if your profile is lacking (by uploading your resume to LinkedIn in PDF Form)

Once your profile is built out, we can leverage the LinkedIn resume function even more to tell you what keywords your profile is missing for your target position.

Now, let's use the key-word optimizer

? Go back to your profile, Select "Build a Resume" again

? Click on ?????????? ???????? ??????????????.

? Put in your ???????????? ?????? ??????????.

Now, LinkedIn will populate your profile in the form of a resume. On the right sidebar of this page, LinkedIn will tell you the top 5 keywords you are missing for your target role.

It will suggest skills you don't have on your resume, making you more “desirable” for that target role.

These suggested skills are pulled from thousands of profiles with the job title you put in as your target role.

You can even do this for multiple roles and see what keywords they have in common.

Now, you can update your description, skills, or past jobs to include how you used those skills. This will help your profile visibility to recruiters.

The search functionality that recruiters use when looking for candidates also closely looks at your LinkedIn headline, so if you are set on a specific job title, consider adding one or two of those into your headline.
