On Sunday, I took a leap—not just into a tub of icy water, but into a new kind of challenge. I’ve done cold water therapy before, so I wasn’t unfamiliar with the benefits, but this time I wanted to push myself further. Cold water showers had become part of my routine. At first, they were uncomfortable, but as with most things, the more I did it, the easier it became. They became a reliable way to boost my energy and focus, but on Sunday, I knew it was time for something more.
I kept telling myself, "I’ve just got to do it." So, I filled the bath, threw in the ice, and stepped in. Immediately, my body reacted to the shock, and my mind started racing, saying, "Get out!" But that’s when I stopped and reminded myself: "I’m not going to die — I’ve done this before, this is just a different way of doing it." That positive story made all the difference. I shifted my mindset from one of fear and resistance to one of control and resilience.
Cold water therapy, especially this ice bath, isn’t just about physical recovery. It’s a mental test as well, one that requires you to push through discomfort with focus and determination. As I stood there in the freezing water, my breathing slowed, and the initial shock started to fade. It became more about resilience, about controlling my mind and body, and about proving to myself that I could handle the challenge.
This experience taught me something important. In business and in life, we often face moments where we know what we need to do, but we hesitate because it’s uncomfortable. It’s in those moments that the story we tell ourselves really matters. Instead of focusing on the discomfort, I focused on my strength, on the fact that I’d done something similar before, and that I was capable of doing it again.

This ice bath was more than just a physical reset; it gave me the mental clarity and energy I needed to tackle the week ahead. Now I’m asking myself: What other areas of my life or business need a new story? Where else can I push through discomfort, rewrite the narrative, and grow?
So, here’s my challenge to you: What’s your cold water moment? How will you step out of your comfort zone, rewrite your story, and unlock new potential? Share your thoughts or, better yet, let’s have a conversation about how we can face these challenges together.
