?? Learning Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All Different generations bring unique experiences, motivations, and learning styles. Some need hands-on guidance; others thrive on autonomy. The key? Embed learning through action—role-play, real-world scenarios, and continuous reflection.
?? Set Clear Goals, But Go Beyond Metrics A coaching mindset helps leaders go beyond performance metrics and ignite purpose-driven growth. SMART goals provide structure, but true success happens when individuals feel connected to their work. Recently some organizations start adopting the FAST framework—Frequently discussed, Ambitious, Specific, and Transparent—to drive strategy execution more effectively.
?? Psychological Safety Fuels Innovation People excel when they feel heard, valued, and empowered. Trust-based leadership, active listening, and an adaptable approach allow teams to take ownership and drive results. McKinsey's 2024 report emphasizes that creating effective teams depends on multiple factors, including high levels of trust and communication, and understanding team context. They highlight team activation approach to organizational transformation to help elevate performance and create value.

?? Enablement + Reinforcement = Lasting Impact Training sparks potential, but reinforcement turns it into mastery. When learning is linked to daily work and supported by coaching, growth becomes a habit, not an event.
At the heart of performance management is people—their aspirations, their learning journeys, and their impact. When employees feel supported, they don’t just meet expectations; they surpass them.

3 周Lovely article, Gonca, and fantastic that you take the CMI step :) With your calm yet focussed attitude and the way you communicate, I can see you inspire and improve teams and colleagues. Back at Oracle I also did a Leadership training, which was a first step into CMI. Since then, I think my biggest takeaway is in your 3rd point: be very conscious about communication. That means not only what and how you say it, but the listening part as well. Different conversation partners require different communication and also communicate differently. So great leaders know how to listen to different communication styles. Also advise I heard from impactful CIOs: radical transparency. Meaning, that you also communicate when things are not good or you just don't know (a very human feeling). If you want to give a safe space to others, you must lead by example. Further: talk about difficult topics also in good times. How do we communicate in a crisis? What do you, dear team, need in a crisis from me? Because when the crisis happens, it is too late. Looking forward to your next evolution and our next conversation :) Greetings from Ratingen
