Venturing into the realm of predictions: what will the healthcare future of today's hyped large language models look like? Here is a short-term prognosis for 6 healthcare uses . If you are not yet comfortable with your knowledge of the topic, we had a very entertaining live session with these AI tools in action , head over, and get to know them.
Meanwhile, here is another sci-fi-worthy piece of news from last week: a tiny flexible 3D bioprinter that could be used to print biomaterial directly onto organs inside a person’s body.?
You have probably heard that ChatGPT has recently passed business, law and medical exams, qualified as a level-3 coding engineer at Google (with a $180K starting salary!), outperformed most students in microbiology and checked a passable grade in a 12th-grade AP literature test.
Better take these results with a pinch of salt, the algorithm indeed did reasonably well on the USMLE test, but it was not a full-value assessment, as all questions requiring visual assessment were removed. However, it is obvious how the capabilities of these large language models have been expanding. So what’s next?
Researchers just unveiled a prototype device that can directly 3D print living cells onto internal organs and potentially will be used as an all-in-one endoscopic surgical tool!
"The proof-of-concept device, known as F3DB, features a highly manoeuvrable swivel head that ‘prints’ the bioink, attached to the end of a long and flexible snake-like robotic arm, all of which can be controlled externally."
One of our most popular ebooks recently went through a major update. As AI turned from a "spectacular promise" into a major force transforming healthcare now, we are living in the midst of a major paradigm shift.??
We wrote this book to provide a hands-on summary of what this new era will bring, explaining what to expect and how to prepare for this change. No technical knowledge is required!
"Amazon's healthcare reach is also evident in its efforts to bring hospital data to the cloud, an area experts say will continue to grow as on-site data center environments become increasingly antiquated.
Amazon Web Services holds 24.3% of the global healthcare cloud market, according to market research firm Insider Intelligence."

"Eko’s digital stethoscopes have been on the market for nearly a decade, and more than 300,000 clinicians use them. The Sensora platform works by connecting to those digital stethoscopes and identifying structural murmurs, a sign of valvular heart disease.
The platform uses a machine learning algorithm to search through its database of heart sounds and determine whether the sounds that a primary care provider hears through their stethoscope are normal or abnormal."
"Researchers at Northwestern University have developed a wearable that can detect when someone is talking or singing, and tallies this information up to provide a warning when the wearer might be at risk of vocal fatigue. Overusing your voice in a short space of time can lead to vocal fatigue and even injury."
The technology could be useful for patients with vocal disorders but also for singers, politicians, and teachers. Those that use their voice excessively.
"Implementing voice AI technology has an added bonus to administrative automation, where clinicians begin to feel more effective, valued, heard and satisfied. This transforms the employee experience into a positive, while generating better day-to-day efficiency, creating “superclinicians” in the process."
So with AI-powered technologies such as voice-to-text applications, AI-controlled chatbots, and administration being automated, the rise of the so-called superclinicians is imminent.
