Have you ever pondered whether patience is an innate skill, an inherited trait, or a product of gradual development over time?
Recently, while directing and choreographing a fashion show for a brand's first anniversary, I received numerous compliments, with many highlighting my seemingly abundant patience—especially in managing kids as young as 3.5 years old.
Reflecting on my childhood, I realized that patience wasn't a virtue I was born with. As a young girl, I was driven by curiosity, eagerness, and impatience, always seeking instant gratification. So, how did I undergo this transformative change? Did patience naturally become a part of me, or did I consciously cultivate it?
The journey to patience was neither automatic nor inherited. It was a skill I consciously developed. Facing life's challenges without patience, I recognized the need for a change. The realization struck—patience could be acquired through effort and dedication.
My journey began with motherhood, a role that demanded newfound levels of patience. Later, as a coach for kids, I encountered diverse personalities and behaviors, requiring a continuous practice of patience. Every day became an opportunity to understand others, stay focused on goals, and question the "why" behind our actions.
Working with children, I encountered various temperaments—some naturally self-motivated, others not so much. Traditional teaching methods often fell short, especially when dealing with public speaking and leadership skills. However, this challenge led me to innovative approaches.
Did you know that I work with kids to help them create YouTube channels for improving public speaking? I encourage them to become authors to enhance their writing skills and offer internships to nurture leadership abilities. Patience became not just a skill but a tool to creatively address individual needs.
The key lesson? Any skill can be developed with keen interest and a consistent daily commitment. Whether it's patience, leadership, or public speaking, the journey involves understanding, persistence, and innovative thinking.
