Unlocking the legacy door

It was a cold and windy night, the stars in the sky were a blanket of twinkling lights. Men lied down quietly on their beds, the trees swayed in the night breeze and the moon shone brightly in the sky.?But there was something else stirring in the air, something intangible, magical and inspiring. It was the emergence of an idea.

Passionately unlocking the legacy door gave birth to a unique book out from the fringes of ancient Bonny Kingdom. It was a journey of two (2) parts in agreement with Edward Abbey who says, “What is the essence of the art of writing? Part One: Have something to say. Part Two: Say it well".

The journey started in my mind followed by a post on #linkedin over 10 months ago [?https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/amosologunleko-leader-coach-mentor_blogging-newsletter-leadership-activity-6917078038392238080-CDDL?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios ].

Finally, I completed the manuscript of my upcoming leadership book in December 2022. Having missed the milestone twice, I promised to get it done and dusted before the year ran out and I made it. Not withstanding necessary and unnecessary obstacles, I am standing straight and tall.

With graceful vigor, I went back to work on the last two (2) chapters with renewed hope and cautious optimism. It ended very well in praise. Hurray!

It’s a nice feeling transiting from a blogger to an accomplished author.

Now, that the editing is progressing well, I can wet your appetite a little more about the project that drew “sweat and blood” out of me.

A book of seven (7) chapters; each loaded with unique voice, enduring message and exceptional appeal. I can’t wait to have it fully edited, widely reviewed, and available in reputable platforms.?

Consequently, this Leadership G.O.T B.O.R.N. series is dedicated to quotes about book, writers or authors. Please enjoy it and leave feedback in the comment section.

  1. “A writer is someone for whom writing is more difficult than it is for other people.” - Thomas Mann?
  2. “A writer never has a vacation. For a writer life consists of either writing or thinking about writing.” - Eugene Ionesco
  3. “Good writers define reality; bad ones merely restate it. A good writer turns fact into truth; a bad writer will, more often than not, accomplish the opposite.” - Edward Albee
  4. “It may be observed of good writing, as of good blood, that it is much easier to say what it is composed of than to compose it.” - Charles Caleb Colton
  5. “As an author, I've never forgotten how to daydream.” - Neil Gaiman
  6. “Making a book is a craft, like making a clock; it needs more than native wit to be an author.” - Jean de la Bruyere
  7. “If there is no love between the author and the story, there is no love between the reader and the story.” - Elif Safak
  8. “What makes a book great, a so-called classic, it its quality of always being modern, of its author, though he be long dead, continuing to speak to each new generation.” - Lawrence Clark Powell
  9. “What I like in a good author is not what he says, but what he whispers.” - Logan Pearsall Smith
  10. “It’s better not to know authors personally, because the real person never corresponds to the image you form of him from reading his books.” - Italy Calvino?
