Essential Training of the Week: Digital Identity For Improved Customer Experience and Secure Facilitation

Global passenger numbers are expected to double by 2041 from approximately 4 billion in 2019 to 8 billion in 2040, growing at an average annual rate of 3.3%.

Building ever larger airports to match this increase will be increasingly difficult, and in many cases, impossible.

The aviation industry needs to implement automation, digitalization and efficient seamless processes to handle this growth.

Digital Identity and biometrics technologies can make passenger processing more efficient, secure and provide improved customer experience.

IATA’s Digital Identity and Biometrics Fundamentals course will explain the main models, forms and features of digital identity and biometrics that are essential for implementing Digital Identity and biometric solutions in passenger facilitation.

IATA, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Airports Council International (ACI) will be jointly hosting a Symposium on Accessibility in International Civil Aviation from 2 to 3 December 2024 at the ICAO Headquarters in Montréal, Canada, brining together governments, industry representatives and advocacy groups to tackle barriers to air travel faced by persons with disabilities.

Willie Walsh, IATA’s Director General:

“Airlines want to ensure safe, reliable, and dignified travel for every passenger, including those with disabilities. To deliver this, airlines, airports and the disability community must work together.

Under the theme “Inclusive and Universally Accessible Air Transport for Persons with Disabilities and Reduced Mobility,” the event will explore strategies to create a more accessible air transport system.

#inovacao #eficiencia
