AI is not a "stand-alone 'thing'". It's "just" functionalities added to (embedded in) most computer systems, automating more worker tasks, creating better outputs, and offering new abilities. BUT with the power to relatively fast replace things, from people to machines. And the code formulas are embedded into more computer systems and, soon, processors of machines. I feel it's a stage of the IT revolution, likely the most powerful, because it results in another Industrial revolution from the concepts/code that can mimic humans. I guess the next (final?) breakthrough of the Information age revolution, is when superior hardware arrives: 1) CPU speeds increase 1000-fold, doing superior mathematical logic; 2) Physical containers/bodies replacing machines and humans. Thus smarter "robots", Androids, and Humanoids - explorations already started... So AI is "merely" SMART CODE that can/will "radically change" all processes in possibly shorter time than before. It quietly manifests as code/functions of computer systems. Impact on people and specifically workers are potentially radical. AI will be hard to recognize because it merely makes systems "smarter".
