As we celebrate #HispanicHeritageMonth, we reflect on the incredible impact of civil rights activists and leaders, like César Chávez. Chavez fought to improve working and living conditions of farm workers in the United States. Chavez co-founded the National Farm Workers Association in 1962 alongside Dolores Huerta, which later merged with other unions to become the United Farm Workers of America. Pictured below is Chavez on the march from Mexican border to Sacramento with UFW workers (photo credit: Los Angeles Times Photographic Collection).

CREED signatory WI-HER, LLC is hosting a free webinar that will share strategies on how neglected tropical disease (NTD) programs can be adapted to consider the unique human experiences that shape access, acceptance, and use of services. Of particular interest to CREED signatories, the event will also focus on several special populations who are critical to reaching the last mile of NTD service provision, including ethnic and religious minorities. Strategies will be shared on how to ensure efforts are inclusive and equitable. Learn more and register: https://lnkd.in/gnFjsV4F
Existing inequalities in health service access are worsened by social exclusion. Overcoming these hurdles calls for innovative, inclusive approaches that consider gender equity and social inclusion (GESI). By acknowledging the complexity of human experiences and the ever-changing nature of these environments, we can craft strategies that effectively reach the most vulnerable populations and sustain progress toward NTD elimination.
