Companies are paying large sums of money to protect their networks, systems, and data against cyber threats since the threats are only getting worse. Since cyber threats are always evolving, companies are always looking for qualified personnel to secure their most valuable information and systems. This article will analyze recent statistics about cybersecurity jobs, and then discuss their requirements, potential salary ranges, and future growth.

All regions experienced growth, with Asia-Pacific (APAC) seeing the biggest increase (15.6%) and North America the least (6.2%). Microsoft Security has also initiated a partnership with community institutions to teach 250,000 individuals by 2025. In Europe, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) said in 2020 that the number of job openings for cybersecurity experts had grown by 100% since 2016, reaching over 350,000.

India has seen considerable growth in the cybersecurity job market. According to Statista revenue in the Cybersecurity market is projected to reach US$2.37 billion in 2023. The market's largest segment is Security Services with a projected market volume of US$1.19 billion in 2023. Revenue is expected to show an annual growth rate (CAGR 2023-2027) of 14.61%, resulting in a market volume of US$4.09bn by 2027. The average Spend per Employee in the Cybersecurity market is projected to reach US$4.57 in 2023. According to a report by the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and PwC published in 2021, estimated that the cybersecurity workforce in India would grow to 2 million by 2022, up from 1 million in 2020. A 2021 study by Nasscom revealed that the demand for cybersecurity professionals in India had increased by 150% between 2015 and 2020. The study projected that India would need an additional 1 million cybersecurity professionals by 2025 to meet the increasing demand.

In-demand skills in the Indian cybersecurity job market include expertise in cloud security, risk assessment, threat intelligence, incident response, and security architecture.
