Unlocking ChatGPT: 10 Essential Tips to Maximize Its Value for Your Business

Unlocking ChatGPT: 10 Essential Tips to Maximize Its Value for Your Business

After a comment I made on a post from Tom Verheyden on 10 learnings he got out of a training on LinkedIn (given by Stijn Van Der Meulen ) , he replied I could also give 10 tips on the usage of ChatGPT.

Let's say Challenge accepted!!

10. Hire me for personal coaching or follow a training with me ;-). You don't need to read the other 9 then. You could also just start with following me for tips & tricks.

9. There are many GPT's that deliver extra functionality like accessing youtube video's, direct link to canva to generate marketing material, creating visuals like mindmaps etc. Have a look at the GPT store and try some out to find the ones you like.

8. Start organizing the prompts you make yourself, quickly it will become overwhelming and you will lose valuable time searching for that one conversation you would like to continue in.

7. Get the plugin for your browser called superpower ChatGPT. It will come with an awesome feature to add folders and reorganize your conversations and bunch of other great stuff.

6. Subscribe on a newsletter, personally I like the one from Superhuman

5. Start small and work iteratively. Its a conversational tool and it is capable of remembering the things said earlier in the conversation, so make use of it. Talk to the AI as in a conversation and work towards the objective you like to achieve. If an answer is not completely as expect refine your request or ask follow-up questions. I hardly get the desired result from the first question I ask.

4. This one I got from Wim Van Rompuy. Threat ChatGPT as a personal assistant/co-worker who you give detailed instructions to complete a task.

3. Make use of Custom Instructions. If you don't know these, it's a huge game changer. You can give ChatGPT some context about your business of who you are so you don't need to repeat it in every conversation and you can instruct ChatGPT on how to respond (eg academic style, formal, short answers, etc).

2. Learn some prompt frameworks. Don't make it too complex, the biggest step up you will make is by just start to use the following in your prompts :

  • role : who does the AI needs to be eg an experienced sales manager, a copywriter
  • context : give him context, what products does the sales manager needs to sell, what is the strategy used, where are you located, ...
  • task : what task do you want to be performed, eg write a cold call email.

from there you can make a step towards the different frameworks.

1. Get the paid version of ChatGPT, it is 36 times more powerful than the free version and comes with a lot of useful extra features like image generation, uploading files, browse the internet, more recent data available, ... .

BONUS TIP : tell ChatGPT to ask you questions if your prompt is not clear, until he has enough information to deliver a great answer

BONUS TIP 2 : ask ChatGPT for which use cases you could make use of ChatGPT. Eg I'm a copywriter and you are the best prompt engineer in the world, what are some use cases for which I can use ChatGPT

I took along a few learnings from the post of Tom on Linkedin, let me know what you take along from this post?

Reuze bedankt Stijn Van Schoonlandt. Top tips die ik als recente fan van ChatGPT nog niet kende.
