Unlock ZTT Liquid Cooling BESS Solutions

Unlock ZTT Liquid Cooling BESS Solutions

Battery energy storage systems (BESS) provide a steady supply of low-cost electricity, reducing our collective dependence on fossil fuels and cutting carbon emissions for a cleaner environment. That’s why BESS containers are increasingly for storing renewable energy generated from wind and solar power.

However, managing the heat generated by the batteries during the charging and discharging process is one of the main challenges with BESS containers. This can lead to reduced battery life and even a risk of fire if the temperature of the batteries exceeds a certain limit.

This is where liquid cooling technology comes into play. By using a liquid cooling system to manage the heat generated by the batteries, BESS containers can operate more efficiently and safely.

Liquid Cooling – Unlocking the Potential of BESS Containers

  • Enhanced battery life

Liquid cooling provides a more stable and cooler environment for the battery, prolonging its life and reducing the risk of breakdown.

  • Increased efficiency

Keeping batteries at a cooler temperature allows them to operate more efficiently, increasing energy output and reducing costs.

  • Improved safety and security

BESS containers are safer for people and property because the liquid cooling system can help prevent thermal runaways and reduce the risk of fire.

  • Flexibility enhancements

Liquid cooling systems offer greater flexibility and customization, as they can meet the specific needs of a particular application.

ZTT BESS – Liquid Cooling Battery Container

The whole frame is made of a 5 mm thick corrugated steel sheet that is flat-welded to meet battery rack strength and flatness requirements. The inside walls are made of zinc-coated steel sheets of a minimum effective thickness of 0.8 mm. Sufficient mechanical strength and stiffness to resist deformation during lifting, transportation, and installation.

About BMS

The Battery Management System (BMS) consists of three layers, the BMU, BCU, and BAU. The BMU is to collect voltage and temperature data from the Battery Unit Box. The BCU is responsible for collecting the voltage and current data of the battery cluster. It also controls the relays of each circuit. At the same time, it receives the data collected by the BMU and uploads the information to the BAU. The BCU monitors the battery, estimates the battery status, and at the same time communicates with the PCS, the EMS, or the station monitoring system.

Availability in Operation

The Houqiao 330 Substation Grid-side Shared Energy Storage Demonstration Project is located in the west of Biandangou City. It is proposed to build a new energy storage power station to connect to the grid to provide ancillary services for peak shaving and frequency modulation. The energy storage system is using ZTT BESS Liquid Cooling technology.
