Recently, I had the privilege of speaking at an event that showcased the incredible strength and resilience of menopausal women. It was a transformative experience to witness these women courageously sharing their stories and advocating for a greater understanding of menopause.
I say this because, in the past in my corporate workshops on hormonal health, it's been startling to see how many women are unaware of perimenopause and its gradual impacts. And, for those who knew, silence was the norm.
It's time to break the silence and embrace open conversations about menopause.
Society must dismantle the stigma that surrounds this natural stage of life. Women deserve a supportive environment that acknowledges their experiences during this transition.
Menopause can influence a woman's mental, emotional, and physical health, making it crucial to recognize symptoms and seek timely support. Although we've made significant strides in many areas, women still encounter barriers that hinder their growth.
Traditional gender roles often compel women to sacrifice career ambitions during pivotal life stages—whether it’s marriage, motherhood, or menopause.
But here’s the truth: We can change this narrative!
When we view menopause as a normal part of life, we open the door to personal growth, enhanced productivity, and creative expression.
During my recent talk, I shared my journey through the Peri2Post menopause transition, revealing the uncertainties and fears that come with it. Societal expectations can profoundly affect a woman’s self-esteem and confidence, but we can overcome these challenges together.
Menopause impacts every aspect of a woman’s well-being—physiologically and emotionally. Issues like cardiovascular health and osteoporosis can arise, alongside intense anxiety and mood swings, which can diminish energy, productivity, and overall happiness.
When we tackle these symptoms with openness and understanding, we create a pathway to empowerment. Embracing holistic lifestyle changes allows women to redefine their identities and explore new possibilities post-menopause—free from the limitations imposed by menstruation or childbirth.

Finally, In the wise words of my mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, women are like the sun: when we shine brightly, we illuminate those around us with energy, hope, and optimism.

I had no idea of the devastating longer term consequences on bone health, till I sought to educate myself and started proactively investing time in resistance & strength training as a mandatory part of my routine. Important to open up & keep the conversation going as the critical step to prevention.
