There are times when we feel our friends and people around have exceptional potential. Still, it’s all in the head because we tend to set impractical boundaries for ourselves. Being born is no less than a miracle, and every one comes with the clean slate to ace life. Everyone is gifted with equal potential, but as we move in life, one often feels low because we think we have missed the chance. Most people don’t work enough to reach their true potential, and very many don’t even think about it given the fear of failure.
Some people have been called dumb and stupid, which has reduced the horizons of their thoughts. If you feel the same, we are asking you to get up while you still have time to make a change in your life. You need to unlock your potentials, and to aid you, we have got FIVE kick-starting tips for you!
1. Self-Discovery
Who am I? Do I know this? Why was I born? What am I supposed to do in this world? Who will tell me what is right for me? If you have these questions in mind welcome to the world of “Calling in Life”, but if you don’t have these questions and you are driven by people around you, welcome to the most common world of “Herd of Sheep”. This is the easy path, do as your parents, peers and friends have been doing it for ages, go to school, attend college, get a degree, do some professional studies, appear for interviews, find a job, buy things on loan and then spend rest of your life repaying them by working for someone else’s dream. YOU will NEVER discover yourself this way. As youngsters, we tend to develop a foundation of beliefs, and with time, these ravel upon us that those foundations are holding us back. That moment is where you need to break the chains of na?ve foundations, which help us discover the true self. We aren’t promising the bed of roses, and there will be criticism, but one needs to develop new foundations based on one’s nature. If we don’t push ourselves, it’s going to keep you awake all night for wrong reasons.
Those sleepless nights require making a change developing the first spark of self-discovery. So, dive deeper into yourself today, and find the right foundations to swap them with one that provide satisfaction.
2. Indulge in Reading
As they say “Readers are Leaders and Leaders are Readers” Books are a man’s best friend, and to dive into an ocean of potential, finding wisdom is an integral step. I absolutely love the book, “Rich Dad Poor Dad,” and recommend this to everyone who wants to START reading, it helps you drive on the path of wisdom and get on the bandwagon of unlocking your potential, giving you a clear understanding between Assets and Liabilities. A man’s biggest enemy is wastage of time, especially the social media that is keeping us more and more busy without business, but we all tend to overlook this fact. One such activity is watching endless videos, remember Watching Videos May Get You Necessities but Reading Will Help You Get Luxuries. YouTube’ing and Facebook’ing will only tell you who all became successful, it will never tell you How!! because that How is in the Books!
3. Procrastinate NOW
We all have promised and fooled ourselves with New Year Resolutions, every month with our friends and every week and day with our families for many a thing that we either planned to Do or Quit. Did you not buy a Gym membership that got wasted, did you not buy a bicycle that is now used for drying dirty clothes, did you not buy a treadmill because you thought you will do it easily at home rather than going to the Gym. Procrastination and Laziness kills the strong-willed person in you at that very moment. To do the least read at least one page from a book before you doze off, do at least 5 mins of Exercise daily, once you start with these baby steps you will start to walk and run one day. To walk the rocky path of self-discovery, you need to stick with improvement and be on the road of change. Start waking up to the day full of possibilities which gets you on the groove.
4. Swim Upstream
Life is all about change, and a rigid person can break. A wise man said “Stiffness is the Symptom of a Dead-Body, Living Beings Bendable”. For walking the path of self-discovery and knowing your potential, you need to stay flexible and accept the changes. With each step of growth, one needs to learn to expand the horizons of personality and thoughts. It would be best if you never stayed stagnant because your life demands an expansion of perspectives.
5. Find A Coach
If there is one thing that you ask me to prioritize on everything else, I would say it is finding the right coach for yourself, you may ask if this is so important why is this the last point of this article, well exactly the reason because, I want you to remember this as a lasting impression. Since the start of my entrepreneurial journey I have been a mentor to a lot of people and of various age groups, one of my mentees asked me “Coach do you also have a Coach” and without a blink I said Yes!! We all need a coach. Now the question could be who is a good coach for you, well you can have anyone as your coach whom you can relate to and another good way to check this is if he/she gives you constructive feedback on your face, more importantly he/she doesn’t talk about other’s weakness in front of you. Which means you can trust him/her with your secrets as well. Try looking at a person who is senior enough and have had some life experiences and definitely have achieved something in life himself/herself.

4 年Well written article Syed Saiful Islam Being a Coach myself I do believe selection of the "Right" Coach is critical, a Coach whose purpose is to "serve" you, not "please" you. While I agree Reading is important to enhance knowledge, I do believe there are inspirations all around, hence building relationships by connecting with people is equally important. Keep writing and inspiring.
