They are unique and original strategies that you can start implementing today. Pick a few and you'll be feeling the benefits in no time!
1. Try a sensory deprivation tank:
A sensory deprivation tank, also known as an isolation tank, is a soundproof and lightproof tank filled with saltwater that is heated to skin temperature. The idea behind the tank is to create an environment that is free of external stimuli, such as sound, light, and gravity, in order to induce a deep state of relaxation and reduce stress.
When you enter the tank, you float effortlessly on the surface of the water due to the high salt content. You can choose to keep the lid of the tank open or closed, depending on your preference. Once inside, you are completely immersed in darkness and silence, which can help calm the mind and promote relaxation.
Some people find that sensory deprivation tanks can help reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, and enhance creativity and focus. However, it's important to note that the experience can vary widely from person to person, and some individuals may not find it helpful or enjoyable. Additionally, if you have a history of claustrophobia or anxiety, it may not be the best option for you.
2. Use aromatherapy:
Essential oils are highly concentrated oils derived from plants that are used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation and alleviate stress. When inhaled, the scent of essential oils can have a powerful effect on the brain and nervous system. Peppermint and lemon are two popular scents that are known for their invigorating and energizing properties. Peppermint can help improve focus and concentration, while lemon can help improve mood and reduce stress.
To use essential oils, simply add a few drops to a diffuser or mix with a carrier oil and apply topically. Alternatively, you can keep a small bottle of essential oil at your desk and take a whiff whenever you need a quick pick-me-up. Some essential oils can also be added to bathwater or used for massage to promote relaxation and reduce stress. However, it's important to note that essential oils should be used with caution and diluted properly to avoid irritation or adverse reactions.
3. Host a walking meeting:
Walking meetings have been shown to reduce stress and improve mental clarity, as well as increase creativity and productivity. By getting outside and moving, you can increase blood flow and oxygen to the brain, which can help you think more clearly and creatively. Walking meetings can also provide a change of scenery from the typical office environment, which can help reduce feelings of boredom or stagnation.
In addition to the physical and mental benefits, walking meetings can also be a great way to build relationships with colleagues and clients. Walking side by side can create a more relaxed and informal atmosphere, which can lead to more open and honest communication.
To host a walking meeting, simply suggest the idea to your colleagues or clients and plan a route in advance. Consider the distance and terrain, and make sure to wear comfortable shoes and clothing. You can also bring along a notepad or recorder to take notes during the meeting.
4. Use a standing desk:
Using a standing desk is a great way to boost your energy levels and stay focused throughout the day. Sitting for extended periods can lead to mental and physical fatigue, which can impact your productivity and overall well-being. By using a standing desk, you can improve your posture and reduce the risk of developing health issues such as back pain or poor circulation.
Standing desks can help you increase energy levels and stay alert by promoting blood flow and oxygenation throughout the body. Additionally, standing while working can help improve mood and reduce stress, which can positively impact your overall well-being.
Remember to take breaks and alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day to maximize the benefits of using a standing desk.
5. Take a power nap:
Taking a power nap is a simple yet effective way to boost your energy levels and improve cognitive function. Research has shown that a short nap of 20-30 minutes can help reduce stress, improve mood, and increase alertness. During a power nap, your brain moves into a state of deep relaxation, allowing it to recharge and process information more efficiently.
To take a power nap, find a quiet and comfortable place where you can rest for a short period of time. Try to eliminate any distractions, such as noise or bright light, and set an alarm to ensure that you don't oversleep. Once you've found a comfortable spot, lie down or sit comfortably and close your eyes.
Take deep breaths and focus on relaxing your body. Allow yourself to drift off to sleep, but try to limit your nap to no more than 30 minutes. After your nap, take a few minutes to stretch and get up slowly to avoid feeling groggy.
6. Take a digital detox:
Unplugging from technology for a designated period of time can help reduce stress and improve mental well-being. To take a digital detox, you can start by setting aside a designated period of time where you will unplug from all technology, such as a day or a weekend.
During this time, avoid using your phone, computer, or other electronic devices, and instead engage in activities that do not require technology, such as reading, hiking, or spending time with loved ones.
If taking a complete break from technology is not possible, you can still benefit from reducing your screen time. Try limiting your use of technology to essential tasks only, such as work-related tasks or communication with friends and family.
7. Try laughter yoga:
Laughter yoga involves combining deep breathing exercises with simulated laughter, which can help reduce stress and improve mood. It involves a combination of deep breathing exercises and simulated laughter. While it may feel strange at first to simulate laughter, it has been found to have numerous physical and mental health benefits.
Furthermore, laughter yoga has been found to have positive effects on the immune system, helping to strengthen the body's natural defenses against illness and disease. It can also be a great way to connect with others and build a sense of community, as laughter is contagious and can bring people together in a fun and positive way.
8. Practice expressive writing:
By putting your thoughts and feelings into words, you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions, and your experiences. This can help you process difficult emotions and experiences, reduce stress, and gain mental clarity.
Writing in a journal for a few minutes each day, or using a guided writing exercise, can be a great way to get started with expressive writing.

9. Create a vision board:
Creating a vision board can help clarify your personal and professional goals, and provide motivation and focus. The act of creating a vision board helps you to connect with your goals on a deeper level and provides a visual reminder of what you are working towards.
By displaying your vision board in a prominent place, such as your office or bedroom, you can stay motivated and focused on your goals.
10. Volunteer or give back:
Volunteering or giving back to the community is a powerful way to boost your energy and well-being while making a positive impact on the world around you. Whether you volunteer at a local food bank, mentor a student, or participate in a fundraising event, the act of giving back can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment that can help reduce stress and improve mental well-being.
When you volunteer or give back, you become a part of something larger than yourself, which can help put your own challenges and stressors in perspective. Volunteering can also help you develop new skills and interests, and expand your social network, which can lead to greater opportunities and connections.
To get started, consider finding a cause or organization that aligns with your values and interests. Reach out to local nonprofits or community organizations to see how you can get involved, or search for volunteer opportunities online. You can also consider organizing your own community service project or fundraising event.
Remember, giving back doesn't have to be a huge time commitment. Even small acts of kindness, such as volunteering for an hour a week or making a donation to a cause you believe in, can make a significant impact on your own well-being and the world around you.
11. Do power poses:
Power poses are body postures that are associated with feelings of confidence and strength, which can help you tackle challenges and overcome obstacles. Power poses have been found to increase testosterone levels and decrease cortisol levels in the body.
Some examples of power poses include standing tall with your hands on your hips, spreading your arms out wide, or standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and your arms raised above your head in a V-shape.
The next time you need a quick boost of confidence, try striking a power pose and see how it can help you tackle your day with greater energy and self-assurance.
