2. Define your purpose at work:
- Identify your core values: Understand what you consider most important in life, such as family, community, creativity, or innovation.
- Reflect on your past experiences: Consider moments in your work or personal life when you felt truly fulfilled and satisfied. What were you doing and why did it matter to you?
- Create a personal mission statement: Craft a statement that summarizes your purpose at work, incorporating your passions, values, and unique strengths.
- Use the SMART framework: Ensure your goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound.
- Break goals into smaller tasks: Divide each goal into manageable tasks with deadlines to help you stay on track.
- Prioritize goals: Determine the most important goals to focus on and allocate your time and resources accordingly.
- Regularly review and adjust: Periodically evaluate your progress, and adjust your goals as needed to stay aligned with your passion and purpose.
4. Align your goals with your work:
- Analyze your current job: Evaluate how well your current job aligns with your passion, purpose, and goals. Identify areas where adjustments can be made.
- Communicate with your manager: Share your goals and aspirations with your manager, seeking opportunities for growth and alignment within your current role.

1 年Good post. I’ve also found it helpful to have clients explore the specifics of their passions and the intersections of their passions. Say you have a passion for sales. Well what specifically about sales really lights you up? Maybe it’s negotiating or perhaps storytelling. Then say you also have a passion for developing people. What groups specifically? Perhaps it’s young people or maybe another demographic. Then what are the intersections - maybe teaching storytelling skills to young sales people. Stacking passions like this helps drive more flow.

1 年Great Post Kevin. I would also add that its important to understand and leverage our core strengths in our work. When we do, we tend to be more energised, motivated and happier.
