Crafting a standout nomination can be the key to winning in the Community Achievement Awards...or any awards program for that matter!

My team is regularly asked about how to create a winning nomination.

After obtaining feedback from longstanding and trusted judges, along with my insights from 10 years of running awards programs, I've put together some of the top tips and suggestions.

Here’s how to elevate your awards submission and capture the judges’ attention:

1. Showcase Testimonials and Reviews ??

  • Why it Matters: Testimonials and reviews add credibility and provide a personal touch.
  • For Organizations/Businesses: Include standout reviews from platforms like Facebook or Google. You can copy the best ones into your nomination and attach additional ones if needed.
  • For Individuals: Seek brief character references from friends or colleagues. Even a short paragraph can make a significant impact.

2. Clearly Name and Reference Attachments ??

  • Why it Matters: Properly named attachments help judges easily navigate and understand your supporting documents.
  • How-To: Label each attachment descriptively and ensure you click ‘Upload’ and then ‘Save Draft’ after each addition.

3. Leverage Your Online Presence ??

  • Why it Matters: Providing links to your social media profiles or website offers judges additional context and content related to your work.
  • How-To: Include direct links to your profiles or relevant online content in your nomination.

Remember, a great nomination not only showcases your achievements but also tells a story that engages and impresses the judges.
