Axya Podcast: Start Your Digital Transformation with Caroline Robin of Logient

On the latest episode of Axya’s ‘Data Driven Supply Chain Podcast’, Axya’s Keven Minier sat down with Caroline Robin— Director of Consulting Services at Logient, a consulting firm that specializes in technological transformation. With a background in marketing communications and law, Caroline was soon drawn to the manufacturing industry where she found a passion for helping firms deal with labour shortages, digital transformation projects and more.?

Caroline shared several key learnings with us in this engaging conversation:?

  • Though many businesses are hesitant to bring in external consultants, they can often be the key to finding efficiency and undergoing a successful transformation. While your team might be experts in your field, consultants can become the ‘experts on a project’ and help provide a new perspective to a problem that has persisted for a long time.

  • It’s important to break down each project into multiple stages: analysis, implementation, discussion and more. The criteria for a year-long project may evolve as new requirements and data emerge. In order to ensure that your transformation is sustainable and successfully implemented, you should be prepared for a project that changes throughout the stages as new information is unveiled.

  • Consult all levels of employees in the company when undergoing a transformation. Each stakeholder will have a unique perspective and list of things they wish to change. While executives may have a big-picture overview of the company, it’s important to have in-depth conversations with employees on the floor— those who are working closely with your manufacturing technologies on a daily basis.

  • When building the budget for a transformation project, teams should not only take into account the financial costs but also the opportunity costs— what the company would lose if they don’t undergo a digital transformation.?
  • Take your time while kickstarting the process of digital transformation. Go at your own pace and leverage the data you have about your company, customers and processes while making decisions. This way, you can best understand your strengths, weaknesses and future goals before entering the optimization process.?

?? The Advanced Quote Comparison Feature ??

I ask for your attention because this is a big one!

We already introduced this feature to you in the last newsletter, but let's go more in-depth on what the quote comparison features is, how it works and how is it useful for buyers.

How it works?

Advanced Quote Comparison

Skip manual comparisons and identify the most cost effective suppliers in an instant! The advanced quote comparison solution saves you time and gives you all of the information you need to make data driven decisions when negotiating with your suppliers.

How is it useful for buyers?

Let's put ourselves in Sarah's shoes.

Sarah frequently faces the challenge of sifting through multiple RFQ responses from various suppliers. The process is time-consuming, and she often worries about making the right choice while ensuring the best value for her company. Sarah discovers our platform's new quote comparison feature while dropping an RFQ for a bulk order of specialized steel components.

  • Aggregated Quotes: After submitting her RFQ, Sarah receives responses from seven different suppliers. Rather than scrolling through a cluttered inbox, she finds all the quotes neatly aggregated in one place on your platform. This eliminates the need to switch between emails, spreadsheets, and documents.

Aggregated Quotes

  • Customized Filtering of Quote Information: Sarah clicks on the RFQ and sees a clear breakdown of each supplier's quote. It includes the unit price, volume discounts, delivery times, quality certifications, and payment terms. She can quickly compare the essential details side by side, helping her identify the most competitive offer.

Customized Filtering of Quote Information

  • Chat and Negotiation: Impressed by a couple of quotes, Sarah initiates direct chats with the respective suppliers to ask questions, clarify details, and even negotiate terms. This direct line of communication saves her time and ensures she gets the specific information she needs.

Chat and Negotiation

As a result, Sarah selects a supplier who offers a competitive price, has a stellar track record, and can deliver the components within her required timeframe. The new feature not only makes her job easier but also helps her company make more informed and cost-effective procurement decisions.
