Unlock LinkedIn Episode 5 Notes

NOTE: This past week I learned a ton about how hard it is to learn new things and how important it is to always be connecting, and re-connecting with the amazing people in your network and beyond. Also, I wanted to thank Perla and Lionel for being on Episode 5 of Unlock LinkedIn and being so cool about the fact I deleted the episode from my feed and have no recording. Show summary: I had two amazing guests. Perla Luna, who is so awesome and the highlight of my west coast Get Hired sessions. Perla could have done anything after college, instead she elected to further her education at Stanford going after a Masters in Education and is a student-teacher. Key message: No linear paths exist. They never have, it is better that way. Here was our first meet up at the beautiful Santa Clara University campus and the first episode of Get Hired, the video series I co-created right here at LinkedIn a few years back:

I also had Lionel Rodriguez, share how he transitioned from Full Sail University to a full-time job at Electronic Arts. He is still crushing it as a Quality Designer for EA's NBA LIVE Mobile team. Lionel had great points around WFH, and we discussed are cover letters necessary - and yes they are says Lionel and Perla. Her is Lionel at last years Full Sail University Hall of Fame event - which was amazing...
