I don't know if you've noticed it or not, but there is a seismic shift going on in the world at the moment and it is to do with people - leadership to be exact!
The leaders of yesterday are being left behind by a new breed - those who disrupt not only their teams and their businesses, but themselves. I'm calling this, The Rise of The Self-Disruptive Leader.
And it's not just a buzzword. Recent studies, like those from Korn Ferry, McKinsey and Co and Fast Company, all credible sources, show that these self-disruptive leaders don’t wait for change to force their hand - they’re driving change from the inside out, by deliberately disrupting the way they think, feel and act and then setting the pace for others to follow.
Some leaders are all in, already making an impact, while others are merely going through the motions, wondering why the needle isn’t moving.
Times are changing, and you don't want to be left behind.
After years of working with diverse leaders and their teams, I’ve seen both sides of the coin when it comes to identities, behaviours and results and because of that I've developed this framework that highlights five crucial levels that determine whether you are someone who is driven by readiness or responsiveness.
This model is designed to spark meaningful conversations and positive change and extends to leverage points and progress indicators that I will share in future editions.
For now, a snapshot of the levels and identities....
Level 1: The Hesitant Leader
Fear and indecision can cost you dearly. If you find yourself struggling to make decisions, you’re not alone. Studies show (Korn Ferry) that 67% of leaders feel unprepared for the future which is a worry for the leader - and the business. It's clearly time to overcome that fear and embrace decisiveness! Time to 'do the work'.
Level 2: The Resilient Leader
While resilient leaders are able to handle chaos, change and challenges, many choose to stay comfortable, ie 'why fix it if it ain't broke?' This complacency puts you at immediate risk of becoming obsolete. Growth is essential so don’t let comfort hold you back or you'll be the one wondering 'what the heck just happened?'
Level 3: The Driven Leader
Overachievers who feel stuck are those leaders at this level who often reach out to me for guidance. They want and need support and perspective because they are doing a good job, but....there's a lack of resources or wrong people on the team or a toxic culture - there's always that 'but...' holding them back from the next level of execution.
Here lies the opportunity for exponential growth!

Level 4: The Creative Leader
Creative Leaders are exactly who businesses want and need now - those who push boundaries, embrace experimentation, take calculated risks, think deeply and choose not to play it safe. True thought leaders who rewrite the script - they don’t just repeat it.
Level 5: The Self-Disruptive Leader
These leaders anticipate and initiate transformation. They create a culture where consciousness and the human element shine - something no AI can replicate and someone people want leading and inspiring them!

1 个月Love the 5 types and the corresponding traits (I’ve worked under them all). Sadly, now we are currently seeing many in the first 1 or 2, with economic instability.
